Felicity Huffman gets 14 days in prison jail in college admissions scandal.

IMO the all the kids who got into schools because of parents paying bribes should be kicked out of those schools. I know it wasn't the kids fault but they also didn't earn their way into those colleges. Because of money, they got the spot instead of someone that earned that spot.

What happened with her kid? Still in school?

If I had to spend a couple of weeks in jail to get my kid into the school they wanted, sure why not.

Wow. A lenient sentence for someone with wealth and fame. Didn't see that coming.
From the article....
"In a letter sent to Talwani, Huffman said she sought out Singer not to rig her daughter's exams, but to provide legitimate college counseling to her daughter. Singer and his employees had been tutoring the girl for about a year when Singer told Huffman her math scores weren't high enough to get her an audition at the colleges she hoped to attend, Huffman's attorneys said.

Singer told Huffman he had a "proctor" — Mark Riddell, a Harvard graduate in his mid-30s — who could fix her daughter's test, Huffman wrote in the letter.

"We will make sure she gets the score she needs," he told Huffman, according to her letter."

It could be that because someone at the school solicited the bribe,
the sentence would be less than if Huffman had initiated it.

In a related event a homeless black woman was sentenced to five years in prison for declaring her son's address as that of his babysitter in order to get him into school....grade school....
FACT CHECK: Was a Woman Sentenced to Five Years for Sending Her Son to a Better School?

The snipes article makes it even sound worse. Where a white celebrity can lay down thousands of dollars to get her children into what is called "stolen education" in a university and get 14 days in a jail and at the same time find a black woman who falsified residency gets a five year prison term. And while the article linked makes mention of soliciting prostitution...again the charge was larceny...exactly what these rich white people are guilty of...and she received a five year prison sentence.

And it's not the only case.

I read a response by the artist Legend who stated the obvious. We shouldn't punish these rich ******** more but those minority individuals should not have received such a harsh punishment in the first place.

Regardless......just like the historical drug war in this nation......we see minorities being punished far more than rich white individuals. And to be frank the so called crime committed by minorities attempting to get their children into a grade school doesn't compare to the larceny of these celebrities getting their children into a university.

It is strange that they would do this, because there was a risk that it would come to light. Do these kids really need college if they don't want to study? Children of famous parents will succeed without college anyway. Yes, when I was applying I also used Australian Assignment Provider is Here & Ready to Help but in order to get through with my paperwork. But if they just pay - they do not need this education really. They just want to get a diploma to show off.
To come from privilege & to want an education are a useful
combination. It makes sense that they'd seek that.

And welcome aboard !!
