Why? Trump is the one who is in the wrong.

There is legitimate concerns about some very bad people who take the advantage of disasters like this to come on in. It's a reason why Trump declined. The Bahamas in spite of its reputation , isn't exactly at the pinnacle of the ideal human society that we all allegedly strive for.

I would think we'd be sending a considerable amount of aid however to help out with reconstruction and the like.

It would seem so, although historically, xenophobia and racism are nothing new in America. It seems the current debate is between xenophobes and xenophiles, but there doesn't appear to be any real moderate position or middle ground.

The British is one of our closes if not THE closes ally.....We ought to help them without even a thought. From the Bahamas it is thousands of miles to England but less than 100 to the USA. Not granting Bahamians TPS is inhuman and clearly racist. It should be considered genocide by neglect, the Pontius Pilate ploy.

There are about 700 islands that make up the Bahamas and only one was completely devastated. You telling me that the Bahamanian government can get this handful of TPS folks to another island?

Oh, sometimes you need to make hard decisions. That doesn't negate the fact that we're sending Aid down there which is definitely a plus once the logistics snafu clears up. The Bahamas will be back to its mean and terrible self in no time. Maybe the drug cartels should contribute a little so the crime bosses can have a vacation down there again.
