Why does God care about some mammal species floating around in the middle of nowhere?

I am afraid God does not have a cost. He gives freely to those He chooses.
"Unless you pick up your cross and follow, you cannot be my disciple." Luke 14;25ff
"Are you able to drink the cup I drink?" Matt. 20:22

Grace is free, but there is a cost to discipleship.

We have to give up our lives in order to embark on the journey of discovery. We have to seek before we can find.

What you call"religion" is not always right.

Why make it about me and what I call religion?
What others claim is more than enough.

As for "not always", that is a marvy understatement.

People with religion have it figured out.

May we assume that you most humbly figure you
are one of the few with true religion and have figured
it out?

I make no claims.

We also have to interpret what it means to be "born of God."
That which is born of the spirit, IS spirit. I am not spirit and you are not spirit. Neither of us is born of the spirit. And if you are not "born" you canot be a chil. We are not yet children of God. But that potential is there. We can hope to someday be born and join God's family.

I would rather leave you confused about this, which you seem to be on other things as well.
Never mind. I’m not here to play Romper Room mind games. You were probably the kind of kid who would tie fireworks to a cat’s tail, just to mess with it.

We are all born with God’s spirit within us. Genesis says so.

It can help to answer questions that don't have answers or applicable science to help answer.
But it doesn't exist so how can something non existent be of any help? Unless maybe you're referring to metaphorical truth

They imagine something or take from someone else's imagination something that rings true based on their emotional need or their sense of how the world works or even should work.
Yeah that seems to be the case.

Monday morning quarterbacking is known to be more accurate, but less impressive.
Huh? What do you mean?

It appears to me that the entire universe is geared to eventually produce and support sentient life.
Why isn't the universe overpopulated with sentient beings then and why are there seemingly non sentient beings that exist?

If that's so, then it would appear that sentient life is God's ultimate purpose of creation.
Why couldn't it be the case that their ultimate purpose is just showing off their creative power through creating the universe while not giving a crap about sentient beings?
