Trivia...
The Upper Peninsula was originally added to Michiganistan as punishment
for waging war with Ohio. (Ohio was punished with Toledo.)
The UP then became a prison peninsula, where we sent our lepers, criminals,
mental defectives, & disgraced televangelists. (There was also some mining.)
If they do get to split off and form their own state, then maybe Baja Arizona could do the same. That would balance it out.
I thought Ohio's punishment was Cleveland. My uncle lived in Cleveland. What a horrid place.

I've been through Detroit, but never spent much time there. It was usually when we were on our way home (we were living in upstate NY at the time). We had relatives around Holland MI, as well as Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota - kind of scattered all over the place. Went through the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel a few times - which allowed us to avoid Cleveland.
Not sure about Flint or Saginaw, but I've been through some pretty nasty cities across the country. A lot of depressed areas across the Rust Belt, Appalachia, and all across the southern tier of the US.
Flint & Saginaw make Detroit look like Vienna....the better neighborhoods of Vienna.

No, I am not a liar. It does not matter to me what other people think; it only matters to me that some people behave this way because I think it is wrong for people to call other people a liar on forums since such behavior and other personal insults ruins the otherwise friendly atmosphere of the forum.
However, people who insult other people only make themselves look bad, little do they realize that.
You are right about that. It is called projection.In my experience, people tend to criticize others for what they dislike in themselves.

And my day today is going to be spent showing my rental house to prospective tenants.
I was not a happy camper when I found out that the woman who moved in in April is already moving out, so now I have to re-rent the house.

In my mind, what redeems the U.P. is walleyes.
I've been through Vienna, Virginia. It wasn't too bad.
Nothing spectacular, though.
So it's a bit curious that the Austrians would name their capital city after an insignificant US suburb.
