Oh what are they complaining about? They don't know what "hot" is. Yesterday, my car thermometer said it was 113° - and no rain in sight. At least Atlanta is expected to get some rain this weekend.
When there's rain, you have no reason to complain...
If it is hot in Atlanta, they must be dying in Miami
Yeah...I recall Scarlett O 'Hara complaining about the heat...Well at least they got a breeze usually coming in off the ocean. The ATL is too far inland to receive the cool ocean breeze. Like ole girl said, it's so hot we want to call the police on the sun!

That's all? When I was a kid, we had to walk 30 miles in the snow just to pay the heating bill.
Pfft 113° dry heat is nothing.
Try 95° with 60+% humidity!
Get further inland in Miami, & it gets nasty. Its horrible in Atlanta. Some 50 days above 95 and no rain in weeks. Miami may have a sea breeze.
I've heard that place described as a "high crime sauna".I've spent some time in New Orleans and vicinity, so I know what it feels like.

I once rigged an engine out of a building down there in July.
It was at the Gold Coast Railway Museum, in a concrete
building...what was left of an old airship hangar.
After 5 days, I was so wilted I was having trouble doing
basic math to design a frame to hold the crankshaft.
I measured the temp in the building....140F.
But a friend works in even hotter buildings...power plants.
He says that sometimes the soles of his shoes melt.
I cope by drinking a lot, & taking electrolyte pills.I know.. Been there, done that.. but I can't take the heat anymore. It makes me queasy.

But the worst thing is having sweat drip off'm me brow onto me glasses.
I hate that!
I don't know if you're aware of this, but 117F is hot.Where I grew up 117 was pretty routine so I know coping tricks, but I'm older now and its no good.
That's all?
I had to walk 40 miles...each way....up hill both ways...thru
the snow....in the hot sun...95F with 95% humidity...with a hangnail.
