Haint Blue

I think it's a neat idea. I've thought about doing it myself. Great conversation starter for sure. Me and my wife visited Quigly Castle outside of Eurika Springs Arkansas a couple of years ago and one of the rooms ceiling was painted "haint blue". The folklore behind it is interesting.

Yeah I remember seeing it growing up on "fancy" houses down south near Savannah. Never knew the lore behind it til recently. I always thought I was cool, but it kinda went away as these things tend to do. I am gonna bring it back!

Coincidentally my Grandmother claimed to talk to 'haints' (her word). I have absolutely no reason to disbelieve her.

I found the lore intriguing personally. Considering a "haint" is a ghost or witch that haunts someone until they die of exhaustion as the lore states. Kinda the way I feel because of my disease which causes fatigue/exhaustion at an accelerated rate. Dunno just been thinking about. Even if if doesn't help me spiritually, morally, or physically (placebo effect), at least I like the color and it's something different and a conversation starter. I am gonna do it my next days off. Will post pics!

As far as colors go, it's a fine color.

I think hoping in God should be the emphasis not hoping in a paint color for protection.

My disease is genetic. My Gene's were programmed from day one that this is how I would naturally die. Nothing can stop that. There is no cure for me. This is Gods plan for me. I am just having fun with the short time I have left, and if a little blue paint helps me get by on a daily basis then so be it.
