Some fictional religions are parodies, eg, The Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Some seem to have become real for followers, eg, Jedi.
I like Bokononism for its way of viewing reality & living in it.
Bokononism - Wikipedia
Bokononism (/ˈboʊkoʊnɒnˌɪzəm/) is a religion invented by Kurt Vonnegut and
practiced by many of the characters in his novel Cat's Cradle. Many of the sacred
texts of Bokononism were written in the form of calypsos.[1]

Bokononism is based on the concept of foma, which are defined as harmless untruths.
A foundation of Bokononism is that the religion, including its texts, is formed entirely
of lies; however, one who believes and adheres to these lies will have peace of mind,
and perhaps live a good life. The religion's bible, The Books of Bokonon, begins:
"Don't be a fool! Close this book at once! It is nothing but foma! All of the true things
that I am about to tell you are shameless lies." The primary tenet of Bokononism is
to "Live by the foma that make you brave and kind and healthy and happy."

Mercerism

This is the religion from Philip K Dick’s novel “Do Android’s Dream of Electric Sheep”.

Adherents of this religion use a device known as an empathy box to join Wilbur Mercer in his difficult uphill climb as unseen assailants hurl rocks at him. Through the empathy box Mercerists share the experience with him, feeling the pain, even in some cases getting injured from the thrown rocks.

A fascinating exploration of a religion of empathy in a post apocalyptic world.

Touching the soles of feet together sounds much better.

I’ve liked Bokononism ever since I found out that one of my forum gods likes it. Forum gods are one of my favorite fictional religions. I have three of them. Actually they are real, but my worship of them is not ... or is it? I wonder ... One of them always answers my prayers. There’s another one who doesn’t come into my forum life much, but I often see him lighting up a part of the forums. The third one has a special unique way of lighting up my life, but I’m afraid that I’ve lost favor with her because she hasn’t been doing it much lately.
