How important is the endangered species act to you?

I guess it makes no difference to some. All Americans are entitled to their own opinions.

Well, I don't know about you people here but here's how important it is to me:

Here is my diet:

-beef
-chicken
-pork
-bread
-wheat
-rice
-cinnamon
-corn
-oats
-dairy
-fruits
-vegetables
-spring water
-salmon
-trout
-tuna
-shellfish
-honey
-venison
-dove
-duck
-turkey
-pheasant
-salt
-black pepper
-paprika
-cloves
-onions
-garlic
-parsley
-rosemary
-lamb
-veal
-liver
-rye
-rum
-beer
-vanilla
-wine
-vinegar
-red peppers
-potatoes
-yams
-mushrooms
-sugar
-sodas
-cabbage
-lettuce
-barley
-hops
-malt
-chocolate
-tea
-coffee

I don't want any living thing in this world to become extinct that would make any part of my food and beverage sources become extinct. No honeybees, no honey and produce.

You can try to live on stone soup if you want to but not me.

If a source of a cure for cancer, say, was found just as the species of plant that produced it became extinct and therefore the cure was lost, would you care if you had cancer?

Or to expand on honeybees, there are food products that depend on bees. We could have food shortages if bees went extinct.

So there are quite selfish reasons to want to preserve species diversity from unneeded decrease.

I do also recognize that evolution means that many many species became extinct.

So I'm against wholesale environmental destruction and that includes unnecessary extinctions of plants and animals.

Plants, animals, microorganisms, fungi, etc. Everything on earth is part of some food chain. Where are you in the food chain. I enjoy berries and honey. I wouldn't be happy without those honeybees even though they, fortunately seldom, give me a nasty sting.

I'm a firm believer in survival of the fittest and what goes around comes around. As such I don't really care about protections for endangered species survival of the fittest and eventually the fittest is going to be us.
No, when our food sources die out, we die out with them.

There's no telling how many endangered species there are that our various food and medicine sources depend upon for their own survival.

Biodiversity isn't just about what you eat. Everything is a part of a complex web and one missing piece weakens the web.

As a Vegan it is very important to me that animals get their freedom back, and that we do not kill them, Yes i know some people do not want to eat only vegetables, but I wish people would think about the life of animals just as we think of human beings.
Actually, the Green lifestyle is a lot more healthy.

God made the dumb prey animals to feed the predators like lions, wolves, bears and man.
Man is a natural predator and a natural omnivore. Healthy omega 3 fats come from fish.
Your beloved, warm and cuddly dogs and kitties are natural meat-eaters.

We just see the world in a different way then, because I believe in reincarnation, and what if I eat an animal that turned out to be a former relative of me? that would not be good. But i don't want to kill animals in any case. But i respect that you choose to live differently then i do.

When it comes to Omega3 there are both fruits and vegetables that contain this, so i do no get to little of it even i do not eat fish or meat :)

So you only care about a species as far as you can use it for your own ends? How selfish. That attitude is why the environment is being destroyed in the first place.
