Going back to work.

As you guys maybe know, I have for the last years been only focusing on my spiritual life and lived off what others may have given (freely) to me. But i have come to the conclusion that if I, as a man going to be taking better care of both me and my fianceè, especially after we get married next year, work is needed to sustain a good life for us. and of course, giving back to those who chosen to help me these last years :)

So With the help of a work office in the nearby town i will from now apply for work and hopefully, i will get some good news :) But life is not always something we can predict.

This does not mean I leaving the spiritual lifestyle, but it means going back into living a more sustainable life in this world. (i can still give of my self to others)

When I was younger I did work for many years in warehouses with the logistic of the supply, so this is what I will go back to.

That’s great. As able bodied adults it’s best we are contributing to our communities and earning a livelihood to support ourselves and our families if we can. The alternative to working is education both spiritual and material. It sounds as if you have been doing just that. But at some point we need to take our place in the community. For Baha’is work done from the fullness of our hearts is worship.

Good Luck, @Amanaki

No doubt you will find the job that you seek, but if for any reason those jobs are few, you could always give yourself to the winds of fate, and just apply for any job going........ that might take you to real life destiny.

My grandson couldn't get a job so he applied for a job as a hospital cleaner. He is now a supervisor in the control room of a huge ambulance service

We never know what's round the corner.

Thank you @oldbadger :) Your words are so true on this issue. Yes if my lack of experience from last time i worked until now should be a problem, i will take any job i may get, at least it will bring some money and food on the table :)

@Amanaki
I'm curious. I also would like to live a more spiritual lifestyle. I was hoping to start camping more often and studying the Bible as camping usually means you can only take a few material possessions and I have been guilty of being quite materialistic. I would like to know more about your spiritual life, how you sustained yourself as I would also like to pursue a more spiritual life. I'm currently working but it is a part-time job. I have considered giving up my job.

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

To live only from the spiritual path and what people give you because they wish, not from is vasking them for help, is a very difficult path to walk :) and living in a lifestyle where personal belonging does not matter any more is difficult in the long run.
But it all come down to how well you can let go of attachments to what you own.
The season i choose to abandon the lifestyle a bit, and get a job is because of my fiancee. She live somewhat different then me, but it is me who dont want to pust her in to a minimalistic and very spiritual life.

For me a day used to look like this.

Awake 06.00
Meditate for two hours
Eat one metal vegetarian.
Clean my living are a
Meditate an hour or two
Study dhamma 4-6 hours
Meditate until bed time between 08.00 to 0900 in evening.
In the end i could Meditate to 03.00 in night then sleep 3 hours.

And i only eat if someone gave me food that day.

So if you want this form of lifestyle, be preparered it is very hard :)
But spiritually with it :)
