My take on the E vs C issue

Taking a page from the Manichaeans and Gnostics, I think the physical realm (the universe as we know it) was created following a cataclysmic battle in the spiritual realm between God and Satan. In his defeat, Satan created the physical realm in which to escape God for a time. By 'create' I don't mean 'creation as in the Book of Genesis, but creation most likely the Big Bang. Remember we're talking about spiritual beings and for them time essentially doesn't exist, so it's entirely likely that we're looking at billions of years of evolution and not *poof* here's a bunch of animals and people.

Along with Evolution, it's my position that Satan- as the creator of this world- had to monkey around with what would eventually become Man in order to make him 'work'. Buy this, I mean placing souls in those bodies. Early Man had no clue what was up, but after thousands of years he started to figure things out.

So sure, I'm all for the Big Bang- and I'm all for Evolution. But at the time I look for the CAUSE of these, and I see an extra cook in the kitchen, and that extra cook is in a sense a Creator.

I suspect then that your biggest issues are going to be with the two ends of the religious beliefs spectrum.....atheists and fundamentalists. Atheists will reject and challenge your beliefs about the spiritual realm and beings, and fundamentalists will reject and challenge your beliefs that don't mesh with a literal reading of the Bible.

An interesting plot for grade D scifi and fantasy movie.

Hey, that reminds me....you never answered my question. The posters on here, who claim to speak w/ their gods, or spirit guides, or similar invisible entities. Do you think they are lying? Or delusional? Drunk? Or what?

I can see that - e.g. here's how the humble cabbage got big banged and evolved into the exquisite brussels sprout...

Can't tell if serious or just joking...

Lying, delusional, drunk, stoned, high, delirium, high fever hallucinations,... or just honestly mistaken, off course.

So what do you think about the beliefs of people who claim to have seen bigfoot, the lochness monster, the kraken, ghosts, shapeshifting reptilians, Elvis or Michael Jackson (today, at walmart),... or who claim to have been abducted by aliens and had weird anal sex experiments done on them?

Do you believe them, or do you rather assume that they are lying, delusional, drunk, stoned, high, delirium, high fever hallucinations,... or just honestly mistaken, off course?

And normal people will reject and challenge them because he's presenting a very specific set of assertions with absolutely zero rational or evidential basis to them.

It depends. Every case is unique.

There are simply too many incidents that occur, every day, to arbitrarily dismiss it!
On this thread, I was specifically referring to posters here who state they have regular dialogue with their spirit guides, gods, or other invisible entity. And this is only 1 forum; multiply this by thousands, and the number is huge! By just those who are willing to reveal it!! There are many more, I'm sure, who aren't comfortable discussing it.
Then there are those who've claimed to have seen Bigfoot, the kraken, ghosts (especially ghosts**), shapeshifting reptilians, chupacabras, Elvis or Michael Jackson (today, at walmart), UFO's.....no doubt that many of these are fraudulent at times, but I wouldn't lump them all together! Only a näive fool would do that....

**The following accounts include many people known for their rational thinking:
THE HAUNTED WHITE HOUSE — American Hauntings .....and that's just one "ghost". Those familiar with or working at the White House claim there are several:
White House Ghost Stories

But since the dead are dead -- they "are aware of nothing, Ecclesiastes 9:5"; their 'thoughts have perished, Psalms 146:4' -- there's definitely something going on, to betray people's trust!

If you think incidents fall into a category, you have to have reasons for placing them into a category. Are the reasons for categorization sufficient.

Strange object in the sky that no one recognizes. Immediately aliens. Why?

Alien life has not been established as a fact. Alien contact has not been established as a fact. How were all the other potential categories eliminated from competition? Mind control for instance. How do you know that there isn't a family in Buenos Aries that are hereditary practical jokers that possess mind control powers? The mutations entered their line with Grandpa and manifested during a vacation in New Mexico in 1946.

You have only these anecdotes about ghosts in the White House, yet you believe that these ghosts exist as if you have sat and interviewed thousands of ghosts including the leading ghost scientists that have spent hundreds of unearthly hours researching their own condition.

Other than those anecdotes, what is there? You have these anecdotes, why is ghost the answer?

Have you ever considered that you may be predisposed to a certain answer and that answer becomes your "truth" without benefit of exploring other possibilities?

Does explanation with no evidence follow claims of the unexplained? Why is that the best explanation? Wouldn't that simply be belief? What eliminates more reasonable explanations and drives support for more complex and speculative answers being true?
