Question for Trump Supporters

I have a question for Trump supporters, particularly Christians. What would Trump have to do in order for you to not vote for him in 2020? There must be a line that, if crossed, you would no longer vote for him. But what is the line? Apparently numerous allegations of rape did not cross the line. Trump once bragged that he could go on a shooting spree and his supporters would still support him. Would this be enough for you to vote for someone else in 2020? What would it take?

What? Me worry?
That he become a Democrat.... BTW, allegations are just that--allegations. If you believe everything you hear about any politician you would probably have trouble justifying a vote for anyone.

Just to be clear, allegations are neither evidence or fact.

In his extremely crude way, he was making the point that die hard trumpites were very loyal.

Based upon what I see in the democrat party and their bizarre positions, Trump would have to die for me not to vote for him.

Run as a democrat. Not that I plan to vote for him.
It is about I think for many, the political power of the party. Republicans want to have the political power or at least have the perception of control in the Federal government.

I think a lot of republicans would have prefered to have been represented by someone else. Trump is who they ended up with. So a republican ******* is better than any democrat.

I suspect it is about political control, not about Trump.

So there is no line Trump could cross that would convince you not to vote for him? Even if he raped or murdered someone? Are you proud of yourself, Mr. Bible-thumping Ex-Cop? Cuz the guy you pretend to worship sure wouldn't be.

I was an original never Trump Republican. He was repugnant to me as a candidate.

He won the nomination because of stupid primary rules, instant Republicans and crossover democrats.

Lo and behold, the democrats coughed up a more repugnant to me than Trump candidate. mrs. slick willy.

It appears that the dem. candidate in 2020 makes mrs. slick willy look like a Conservative.

There it is. Anything Trump does is fine, so long as he's not from the other "side"

At least he admits it, I guess.
Funny, isn't it? Just pick a party, and be loyal to whatever that party is up to today. @BSM1 said so, too. Yet, the Republican Party of today is most assuredly not that of Lincoln. And likewise, the Democratic Party of today isn't anything like the one Bobby Kennedy was running for when he gave his magnificent address on the race riots of his day, just two months before he was killed.

It does look so very much to me like knee-jerk reactionism -- "my party right or wrong" -- when I believe in asking the parties vying for my favour to tell me what they're offering by way of policy, leadership and approach.

Trump?
  • More than 12,000 false or misleading statements during fewer than 1,000 days in office
  • Insults everybody, and whole nations ("fine people" people on both sides in Charlottesville, "****hole countries
  • Said there were “very fine” people on both sides in Charlottesville, accused a judge of Mexican heritage of being unable to do his job, calls African and Caribbean nations “s---hole countries” and wants only immigrants from safely white Norway)
  • Racking up deficits liberals could only dream of, but "fiscally irresponsible?" Good heavens, no!
  • Prefers dictators to democratic leaders, but surely wouldn't want to become one ("maybe I'll serve more than 8 years!"
  • The slams against women (grab 'em by the feline bits), and suggesting Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) would trade sex for campaign contributions, but surely never a “misogynist.”
  • Pooh-poohs climate change, even though it's happening
  • Mostly not working (on "executive time" or more often the golf course)
  • Doesn't read intelligence briefing (or anything, really), but "lazy?" Certainly not!
  • He really does offend the rule of law, and he disparages the First Amendment, the separation of powers and the courts at every chance he gets.
  • How many incompetent advisors has he hired -- then had to fire? In any competent business, this would be seen as complete lack of managerial acumen.
  • Changes policy on a whim, usually on social networks, then reverses himself later, but rest assured, he's neither impulsive nor erratic.
As so often in the past, I give thanks that he's your President, and not my Prime Minister (about whom, even though I'm a Liberal, I have complaints as well).

What a truly hate-filled, craven hypocrite, huh?

LOL, you are a pip you are. Lets see. Do you really think the secret service would allow him to do any of your stupid possibilities ? No.

You have a lot of vested emotion in this, don´t you ? Have you sought some help for it ?

You posed a question, so you could unload your emotions on someone who didn´t answer it the way you wanted. Feel better now ?

It won´t last. You ought to think about things, rather than just emote.

Actually yes, I am proud of myself on a number of scales, thank you for asking.

Now, have a warm glass of milk and lie down for a while, I am concerned about your mental well being.

Really? I gave you another chance to come up with a scenario in which you wouldn't vote for Trump, but you still failed. The secret service can't control everything a president does or prevent him from committing any crimes. That is asinine. You're just trying to rationalize the fact that you've sold your soul to Trump. Pathetic.

Was Trump repugnant before he ran? I mean he used to be best buds with many democrats. When did he become repugnant to democrats?

For a lot of people it was the Central Park 5 nonsense, for others, the whole Birther schtick. Personally, I've never liked him, and frankly the more I learn about him the more contemptible he appears. No one is 100% bad, but IMHO Trump comes as close as anyone I know of.

Although just a mere Canadian, and one who doesn't watch much TV, every time I saw anything of Trump, before he started running, and ever since, has always made my skin crawl.

I quite honestly find him quite repugnant. There is just something so dishonest, not real, not part of being a real human being about him. It takes seconds to realize that this is a man totally devoid of empathy, who sees no relevance to anything that isn't about him. And honestly, I think those who can't see that are blindfolding themselves in order to keep believing in something that isn't even real.

And what is it he's been charged with...oh, that's right...nothing. Maybe it's about time some folks wake up and start admitting that there's nothing to pin on Trump, no matter how badly you want to. When you've got some proof instead of unvarnished hatred for the man, come on back.

Pretty popular on American reality TV for a while. Suppose I didn't watch enough to make a judgement at the time.

No one mentioned him being "charged" with anything, so your pathetic goal post shift fails. Pathetically. You said the only thing that would stop you supporting him was if he became a Democrat. Nothing about him being charged with anything, nothing about his many, MANY breaches, ethical, moral and policy-wise. Just that he become a Democrat. You opened up and admitted you're nothing but a tribalist, and now you're back pedalling. Your convictions are everything that's wrong with contemporary political discourse, and you don't even have the good grace to stand consistently by them. You are supporting an awful human being, and awful politician. Purely out of identity politics. You had an opportunity to make a case for his support, and all you can come up with is the lamest of logical fallacies. If you had any self awareness, the fact that you can't defend him at all beyond "well, er, um, he hasn't specifically been charged with anything yet" might tell you something.

Rather than hiding behind smug demands for unachievable and shifting burdens of evidence, how about you come back when you can actually make a credible case for your idol?

No? Just smug, misplaced condescension and more logical fallacies? How tiresome. TGIF.
