Movies You Watch Again and Again.

I don't even know if this is normal. There are perhaps 6-12 movies I watch again and again.

I watched Twilight perhaps 6 times.
I loved Lord of The Rings but usually fast forward when it gets to the Golem. 4 times.
I'm watching Two Thousand Twelve. 5 times.
I've watched Arrival too many times to know.
Russian Sci Fi Movie called Attraction. 3-4 times.
Interstellar. 3 times.
50 Shades of Grey. 6 times.

Why does this happen?

I do that too. It's probably why they call some movies timeless.

Like Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory type timeless .

I tend to do it a lot with animes and a number of films from the 70s and 80s.

I have watched 'Gravity' about 6 times.
I'm obsessed with it.

I think I'll watch it again soon! :)

I never tire of watching Angus scrimm in the Phantasm films. Boyyyyyy!!!!

FLCL. "I told you not to play with them , is it my fault"?

Circle of Iron. "You're obviously mentally Disturbed, you should see a doctor".

Father Ted. My entire life is based on the sound bytes alone. "Would you like a cup of Tea"? "Go on".

Every Which Way but Loose. "Right turn Clyde".

Billy Jack. "I'm going to take my right foot, and whoop you on that side of your head".

The Princess Bride.

(Which should be the same answer for everybody.)
Classic! I haven't had TV since the '90's, but I watch The Princess Bride whenever I get the chance. (I have the book on my bookshelf.)

I also love Julie Taymor's The Tempest. I'll also watch that whenever I get the chance.

Why does this happen?

For me its a combination of good actors, good scripts and character development.

I'm watching Two Thousand Twelve. 5 times.
I've watched Arrival too many times to know.

As have I. Have you seen the sequel to 2012?
Some I have watched over and over.
On Golden Pond
Guess Who's Coming to Dinner
Grand Torino
Castaway
Sudden Impact
Sneakers
All the Presidents Men
Chocolat
All Is Lost
I could go on and on. Usually I watch them late at night when I want something that doesn't tax the brain.

Because we like things that make us happy?

Movies I’ve watched more times than I can count include but are not limited to
Back to the Future (more 2 and 3)
Lord of the Rings trilogy
Wizard of Oz
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory
Kill Bill 2
Pulp Fiction
Donnie Darko (directors cut only)
Shawshank Redemption
Return to Oz
Harry Potter (sometimes just one and two, sometimes one of the later ones, or I’ll have a marathon.)

I’ll also occasionally rewatch one of my “one watch is enough” movies. Like Requiem for a Dream or Trainspotting. Good movies and I love them, but they emotionally drain me too much lol

Hmmm

Labyrinth
Ravenous
The Watchmen
FF7 Advent Children
Vampire Hunter D (both)
Pulp Fiction, well just about all Tarantino films.
Guardians of the Galaxy (both)
Mad Max (all of them, even the new one)
The Road
The Sandlot
Stand by Me
Fried Green Tomatoes
Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit series have em all on blu-ray.
Transformers The Movie (the cartoon not the J.J. Abrams live action trash)
The Goonies
The Burbs

Hmm and more maybe too many to list. When nothing else is on one or more.of these is ready on standby. I make it a point to watch The Labyrinth at least once a year just because I love it so much.

Re-Animator and Bride of Re-Animator. For my sense of humour, those films are damn near perfect.
