Monsters, men and magic: why feminists turned to witchcraft to oppose Trump

Apparently its been going on since 2017.

Each month, thousands of witches cast a spell against Donald Trump

Here at RF we respect everyone's beliefs. So there will be no "no such thing as magic" talk. That being said should we begin literal witch hunts and arrest them for assault? Technically it falls under the definition.

Assault

In law

an act, criminal or tortious, that threatens physical harm to a person, whether or not actual harm is done.

Hexes, jinx, and curses intend to cause harm after all.

*P.S.* Truly is a sign of the mad times we live in.

Only if we also raise a warrant for every religious person who has ever prayed for harm to come to Democrats or Democratic leaders.

There is a little more to the legal definition of assault.

Hahaha! Why would feminists want to do harm to Trump when Pence is waiting in the wings?

The second article mentions binding spells, so he can do no harm.

Here's the spell:
Use This Spell to Bind Trump and His Cronies
snippet:

Hear me, oh spirits

Of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air

Heavenly hosts

Demons of the infernal realms

And spirits of the ancestors

Light inscribed orange candle stub

I call upon you

To bind

Donald J. Trump

So that he may fail utterly

That he may do no harm

To any human soul

Nor any tree

Animal

Rock

Stream

or Sea

Bind him so that he shall not break our polity

Usurp our liberty

Or fill our minds with hate, confusion, fear, or despair

And bind, too,

All those who enable his wickedness

And those whose mouths speak his poisonous lies

I beseech thee, spirits, bind all of them

As with chains of iron

Bind their malicious tongues

Strike down their towers of vanity

Invert Tower tarot card

I beseech thee in my name

(Say your full name)

In the name of all who walk

Crawl, swim, or fly

Of all the trees, the forests,

Streams, deserts,

Rivers and seas

In the name of Justice

And Liberty

And Love

And Equality

And Peace

Bind them in chains

Bind their tongues

Bind their works

Bind their wickedness

Light the small photo of Trump from the flame of the orange candle stub and hold carefully above the ashtray

Speak the following loudly and with increasing passion as the photo burns to ashes

So mote it be!

So mote it be!

So mote it be!
--------------------------------------------------

So praying that your mind will not be overcome by hatred, confusion, fear, or despair constitutes an assault? Really?

What do you think about these lines

And those whose mouths speak his poisonous lies

I beseech thee, spirits, bind all of them

As with chains of iron

Bind their malicious tongues

Would you say that the opening post is a malicious misrepresentation of this spell? I would. ;)

[ Instructions about Worship ] I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, ...

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :D

I believe Schadenfreude or similar sentiments belong to sociopaths only...because a rational person believes in free will and in the fact everything depends on human praxis.

Lol I just envisioned a bunch of chanting feminists with a Trump voodoo doll and a lot of needles.

Pretty sure “it’s surely a sign of the times” was quipped by many when the Donald was elected. At least that’s the vibe I noticed at the time.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Sure... round them all up right after you arrest all the Evangelicals who prayed for Obama to be struck down on conspiracy to commit murder.

Looking at the actual spell, it doesn't appear to be intended to cause harm. Binding spells in Wicca and the vaguely Wicca-esque varieties of Neo-Paganism are typically intended to prevent somebody from causing harm. There are some very wishy-washy, flower power Pagans out there ;)

Unfortunately the spell doesn't seem to be working!

It does however bring up an interesting question. If Trump doesn't end up getting a second term, how many people will put it down to this spell? I think Alex Jones is probably a good candidate there.

*sigh* Being a feminist does not make one a witch, and my guess is that becoming a witch does not make anyone a feminist. In that case how is there any political relevance to this kind of verbal request made by the witch? There's no sense in claiming 'Feminists have turned to witchcraft' either. It also logically follows that feminism can't make Trump a witch, nor can witchcraft make him a feminist. Bit of humor in the Guardian, and we all get a little laugh at someone in a different religion.

I have it on good authority that Trump has sent a special team (from Kansas, no less) to deal with these witches once and for all:

Only if those same witch hunts go after every person who has said they would pray for me, or asked me to pray with/for them. It's blasphemous to the Gods, how dare they.

I've just realized that what the OP suggested was a literal witch hunt.

Food for thought.

I wonder how many people's minds were overcome by hatred or whatnot to the point of believing the OP's claims about the content of the provided links without checking the content themselves?
