Madam President

She's probably one of the more impressive candidates yet
It's a bit disconcerting that she was a running mate with Bernie Sanders. I would consider that a red flag.

To State it as Trump puts it,

Socialism is not going to come into this country.

Firstly, she SUPPORTED Bernie Sanders, when she stepped down as vice-chair of the DMC. She was his running-mate only as a write-in candidate in California. Why is their relationship disconcerting, or raise any red flags? I love Bernie, but at 77 the brain is just too physiologically different than it was at 38. Secondly, socialism has been around even before Roosevelt. Without it, people would still be dying in the streets now. There is no true democracy, no true socialism, no true republicanism, and no true capitalism. There is only a mixture of all of them. And, thank God for that.

Trump has only proved that even the worst of us can be president. This time I want the best of us to be president. Talent will always rise to the surface, no matter how much you try to keep it down. Her message is just too powerful to ignore, or deflate.

I never even heard of the name until now.

Kind of scary cuz it's a bit like Obama before he came on the scene. He was supposed to be the best thing since mashed potatoes and gravy.

Obama is not in the same league as Tulsi Gabbard. Obama did not stop wars. Obama had no command experience. Obama followed, not lead. Obama did not have a soldier's credo of service above self. Obama was talented, but not genuine. Obama was a man, not a woman. Obama did not buck the Corporate America, wall street, the fossil fuel industry, or the military industrial complex. There will be as many contrasts between Obama and Tulsi, as there will be between Trump and Tulsi. But corporate media and corporate America, will do everything to prevent that from happening. It's best to double down and support candidates(Biden, Warren, Harris) that will maintain the status quo. And even better, are no threat to Donald Trump.

Nothings better than mashed potatoes and gravy.

The spiel in the op was enough to put me off
thinking she was much of a prospect, but,
I watched her speaking on youtube, read some
more and, yeah-she looks pretty good!

For sure a better bet than those moldy losers
that are running against her.

I've just been out the loop with politics lately. Till the OP I had not heard of her before.

I just have my concerns.

Politics as I'm sure you know, is largely smoke and mirrors, so I think I'm going to find out for sure once Bernie Sanders announces his running mate, as he stated he is looking for a younger woman as VP.

Let's see if Tulsi fits into any of it.

While the Socialists of America didn't directly endorse Tulsi completely, they do support many of her political policies. I'm not under the impression she's a member like AOC and Bernie. At least not yet.

What Is Tulsi Gabbard Fighting For?

It's something I'm just going to have to say time will tell.

I'm hoping she would be just a blue dog Democrat which would actually be refreshing to see even if they are the opposition.

Maybe someone can help me to understand, because I just don't get it. We have a candidate that is a two-time combat veteran, and still serving as a Major in the National Guard. A person who will stop the escalation of a Nuclear Arms Race. A person also serving as a congresswoman on the Foreign Service, Homeland Security, and Armed Services Committees for almost 7 years. A person that wants to end all regime change illegal wars, involving America. A person that wants to bring all of our soldiers home from countries all over the world. One country we have been in for almost 20 years. A person that wants to stop the millions of civilians, soldiers, and children from being killed by us, since 911. A person that wants to use the trillions of dollars wasted(4 Billion dollars/month in Iraq alone), and use this "war dividend" to address the social issues we have here at home. A person who exudes gravitas, attention, courage, authenticity, integrity, confidence, and intelligence, every time she opens her mouth. A person with a 38 year old brain, not the brain of a Grandpa, or a Grandma(you can't fight human physiology). Finally, a person that actually walks the talk)Standing Rock, Puerto Rico, fact-finding mission in Syria, Homestead Detention Center, and her consistency in legislations, passed and proposed).

What am I not seeing here? She exposes a foreign policy corporate status quo lackey(Tim Ryan), and a narcissistic, egocentric, sociopath(Kamala Harris), for what they are, and it is the messenger that is attacked. No rebuttals, just smears, lies, and slander. What is corporate media so afraid of to support these smear attacks? The truth about their bottom line? How can you ever justify calling a volunteer twice combat, still serving veteran, a "Russian-Bot, a Trojan Horse, or an Assad Apologist? No one called Nancy Pelosi an Assad Apologists, and she met with him twice. I would vote for anyone with just half these bonafides. Please, tell me what am I blinded to? Why are we putting our future in the hands of old men and women that have clearly shown their allegiance to corporate America, to maintain the status quo. Without stopping these endless illegal wars, these dog and pony shows, will only be a theatre of empty promises. They are not even trying to hide it anymore, because the public can no longer see the truth in front of their eyes anymore. Are people more interested in just winning, than in what they are winning?

You're talking Tulsi Gabbard? I like her too. May be too new to politics? Maybe as VP in 2020, or in President 2024?

Major Gabbard is my #1 choice for president. I was part of the "Run Tulsi Run" group in 2016. She is the Commander in Chief this country needs. The candidate that is trying to be silenced by the DNC and the mainstream media is the candidate we all should be listening to!

Marine Le Pen has described as far-right and has many supporters male and female, wouldn't you think that if "people on the right" would never support a woman president don't you think a "far-right" president would be unimaginable?
Marie Le Pen is in France. The conservative culture in America is not like anything in France. Apples and Oranges.

He can't keep his stories straight.
He says Libertarians are conservatives.
Yet our party has regularly run females for VP.
And as we know, that role has led to the presidency.

Yeah, that was quite a sales pitch.

It was not a sales pitch, it was the truth. It might seem like a pitch because her experience and achievements are so unbelievable. Never in my lifetime have I seen a candidate so personable, and able to touch people to their core self. Look at some of her videos of how much she can touch people. No other candidate elicits this level of empathy and hope. She, in my opinion, represents our last hope in saving America. If we miss this chance, we may not be here in the next four years. If we go to war with Iran(14th largest military in the world), I guarantee that Russia, China, Syria, and Lebanon will covertly protect their interests from American imperialism. It would be a global economic catastrophe. Does anyone know why we sanction countries that threaten our American dollars? Does anyone know the deal America made with Saudi Arabia to only trade oil in American dollars. What would happen to the US economy if they chose not to? Our economy would collapse. Many, many, many, times worse than the '28 depression. Does anyone know what happened after Nixon floated the dollar, and why? If you know these things(like Tulsi does), you will understand the motives for all these unlawful regime change wars. There are cruel and brutal dictators throughout the world. Why do we only sanction and attack countries that nationalize their oil and natural resources, or refuse to trade in American dollars when buying oil(Libya, Syria, Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, etc.)? Do you know who has the largest deposit of oil in the world, and is the third largest producer of oil, THE U.S.. This is just a perverse interpretation of the Monroe Doctrine, to lament making a deal with the Devil(Saudi Arabia).

Edit: I guess from everyone else's posts, Tulsi Gabbard.

Before Tulsi, no one was talking about stopping regime change wars. No one was talking about bringing our troops home from the middle east. No one was talking about lifting sanctions, and returning to the Iran nuclear deal. In fact, no one was even talking about our foreign policies. This became a talking point only after Tulsi started to address them. I like Bernie, and I supported him in 2016. Unfortunately being on the Senates Veterans Affairs, Budget, and Democratic Outreach committees, does not give him a wealth of foreign affairs and foreign policy experience. Tulsi is a Major in the army with 1st hand combat experience, and is a foreign affairs and policy expert. She has more foreign policy knowledge and experience than any other candidate(even Biden). She is certainly no slouch in social policy issues either. Just go to her site, and see her position, and all the legislation she has sponsored, co-sponsored, or championed to address our social issues. Clear and concise methodologies, not talking points, characterizes her explanations. Addressing our social issues, means we need to first address our foreign policy issues. If we don't, all talk of addressing climate, homelessness, healthcare, infrastructure, crime, education, etc., are just empty promises, "to be continued". Her commitment is "rock solid", and her policy are uncomplicated. Bring troops home. No more killing by the US. Stop providing arms and protection to Saudi Arabia. Stop funding Terrorists. Get back into both nuclear treaties. Lift crippling sanction, that only affect the poor and not the rich in those countries. De-escalate nuclear tension throughout the world. Use the trillions wasted on illegal wars, to be used to address our own social issues. Make the name America respected again, as a force of good in the world. And not disrespected as a "danger and an embarrassment".

There is no true socialism in America. This is a corporate hoax to encourage division and confusion in how people think. Most people have no idea what socialism is. But if you ask them if it is bad, all of them will say that it is. I think Hip Hughes gives a very good explanation of what socialism is, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYm-9M4D7GM (just over 6 min.).

With the exception of Bernie and Yang, there is nothing authentic or genuine about the rest of the candidates. You are so use to seeing bad acting, that you can no longer discern when someone is NOT acting. They have admitted to your face that they will maintain the status quo, and somehow solve all our social issues. Yet your concerns are with the most genuine authentic of them all? She has led with service first, not just rhetoric, as a congresswoman. No Democrat is going to use her record against her, so they must smear her using guilt by association and half truths. That article you sighted for example. Do they mention that as a member of the arms services and the foreign affairs committees, that it was her job to find out the truth about Syria, and she was smeared for doing her job. No one cared about being lied to with WMD. No one cared that she didn't go alone, or that Congress is a separate and equal branch of government. It does not need the approval of the executive branch. Just more smears in that article from corporate media. Over 90% of all media(radio, television, and print) outlets are control by 3 corporate giants. They include the fossil fuel industries, and indirectly by the military industrial complex. So they must protect their own interest, not yours. That is why these same talking points are said over and over again. They know that there will always be people to believe them, or at least be "concerned". I would try Kim Iversen, instead of these corporate hacks in the future.

We need her leadership NOW, desperately. Bernie just doesn't have the right temperament, or the command experience to run a country. He will be easily manipulated, just like Trump is. The contrast between Tulsi and Trump alone, would guarantee a Gabbard win in 2020. The contrast between Bernie and Trump is not that striking. A Narcissist verses a Socialist, the Narcissist will win every time. A Narcissist would even beat a corporatist(Clinton and Biden) every time as well. But Narcissists can't beat anyone with the genuine qualities, and attributes that they lack. It would be like a child, trying to argue with his mother. Trump will avoid any debates with Tulsi, if he can. Her message, and bona fides are just to powerful to confront.

Corporate media, and Corporate DMC have far too much to loose, to give her a lot of quality airtime. Unless, it is used to disseminate more of their smear talking points. You will have to use independent media, meet and greet, and the grass roots progressive outlets(not TYT), to get any semblance of real journalism. In other words, you can either be spoon-fed the information that corporate America wants you to have. Or, you can go follow her campaign on her website, Facebook, Twitter account, and many other independent news sites. Then you can make up your own mind. Tulsi has every quality I would expect in a President. She is NOT just a pretty face. Kamala and Ryan, only tasted maybe 20% of this woman's wrath and indignation. And, we saw just how much damage control that caused. Can you imagine what effect Major Gabbard would have, at 60%? It's not that she simply tells the truth, it is how she delivers it.
