Comparing Exodus and the book of John

I've been casually following the Videos of "Sergio and Rhoda in Israel', and find their insights to be fascinating. This will not lead me back into the vapid Christian Fundamentalism that I fled! However it might become appropriate to engage more in a scholarly, but unemotional approach to the belief system. So, no shouty preachers... at all.

In their analysis of the books of Exodus and John, I saw no reason that Muslims could not engage this. It seems very good and the food of much thought. I will have to study this much more.

I would say the tabernacle represents Jesus
It is made of ordinary materials like woods, animal hairs and animal skins
It is also made of precious materials like gold and silve.

It points to Jesus who is both fully human and fully divine

In Psalm 68 there is a foretelling of the tabernacle mobving up Mount Zion and taken in the New Testament book of Ephesians as pointing to Jesus ascending to heaven.

I would say the book of Exodus does point to Jesus

I do think there is an image of God partly revealing himself as
Mt Sinai a terrifying burning mountain that's unapproachable
then
We becomes more approachable with the tabernacle down from the mountain
then
the tabernacle moves in the middle of the people to be with them
then
the tabernacle moved with them through the centuries and eventually
up mount zion where people dwelled in the same mountain as the tabernacle
God now more approachable

It points to Jesus who dwelt among us as John 1 said
A holy unapproachable God becomes approachable in Jesus
