I was on there a long time ago...when I was a Luciferian. I wanted to debate but, well, you know how they are.

I have a story involving a few members secretly involved in the occult. But given that a lot of members from that forum visit this forum, I don't want to say anything in public. I'm not even sure if the story is worth the two-pages of typing I would have to do.

It's still a decent forum actually, but I feel like the life-force is slowly sapping away. If I wrote some of the stuff on that forum I do on here, like that time on here Reverend Bob asked "What are you wearing?" and I wrote "I'm wearing sex.", I would be perma-banned there.

This forum, RF, gives me a fresh start though. Whereas if I logged in on the other forum, people would be saying "Have you been following God lately?!" without realizing the best thing for me is to not follow God but to focus on myself and becoming a better person. And if I don't do that and put everything into some Deity, I'm heading on a crash course sooner or later.

It's chock full of tin-foil hat lunacy. And not in a good way. In fact the more lunatic and extreme your version of Christianity is the more it is encourage as if you are showing how on fire you are on for Christ by being more nuttier than the next guy.

It's definitely a different form of cognitive dissonance than you face here. Here you just have to worry about what PopeADope and I are going to say next (which I don't really mean in a bad way - PopeADope makes some good, nonconventional threads).

I really like what we have here. Whether it's you making memorable threads, or PopeADope being funny, or ADigitalArtist's thoughtful posts, or Quag's good sense of humor, or Jim's posts at improving things, or the unpredictability of whether Enoch and I will agree or disagree on a subject, or the huge amount of banter in the Jokes section. I've been hurt here before, but it's going to make me stronger. You have to live as a caterpillar and go through a bit of unpredictability before becoming a butterfly.

I used to hang out there, but they got pretty draconian on bans.
You mean Erwin's CF, or the post Erwin CF?

I learned how not to get banned from a forum by posting on the original, Erwin, CF. I left before his followers got a chance to ban me.

Nowadays, the RF staff have to deal with me and what I learned.

I

I still visit carm.

I don't. I deleted that account a few months ago, after being a member for close to fifteen years.

It's one of those 'I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" sort of things. CARM has the right to run its site and make its rules anyway it wants to.

But I don't have to stay there and put up with it.

I was there of and off since 1999. They decided that I only can hang in atheist neck of woods despite my protests.

No, but we're probably all running on the same server rack somewhere in the cloud. Our bits are probably right next to their bits and just separated by a virtual layer.

Yep, 2 days in they banned me for something that wouldn´t even be blinked at here, I asked for my money back, they refused, but told me when my sentence was over I could come back.

I demanded I be put on a permanent ban, then left.

Never heard of it. Used to hang out over at TheologyWeb, but got bored of it. It was pretty decent but I got bored of it eventually. Now that I'm no longer a Christian I prefer a place like RF that's a little more ideologically diverse.

I have been there, but I like it here better. Besides, it has been pointed out that a lot of the anti-science posters from there, come over to here, so I do not have to jump around to read their funny stories.

I cannot believe you said something controversial.
