Hell isn't literal, the worst punishment is that your conscience ceases to exist.

I was reading Miguel de Unamuno who was a spanish Catholic thinker and he says something very interesting which is that given our longing as a species to preserve our individual conscience that the worst that could happen to one person would be to die and that your conscience ceased to exist. He even says he would prefer hell over it because at least he could have his individual conscience in hell.

I disagree. Eternity of torture vs no eternal torture. If one can never be redeemed then I would pick option B.

This leads me to believe that probably the punishment for all the evil people is that their conscience will be erased forever from this world and they will cease to exist when they die. Good people on the contrary will have eternal life.

Within the Catholic context those people would have their minds altered.

There is no fire in Hell, the fire is going to be on earth and it will be the mechanism by which you get to Hell. Hell is a black hole. It is darkness, freezing cold, hyper-gravity, and a bottomless pit. Fire is a symbol of holiness and angels are made of wind and fire. Seraphim, where we get the term Angel, means "burning ones". God appeared to Moses in a burning bush (Exodus 3:2) and there is a furnace in the book of Daniel where the occupants are not hurt. Daniel 3:25.

Once again I don't understand how you can say there is no hell fire in hell, I started to give each scripture that says it does, and it's not a word meaning something else, but that would take up a lot of my space, when in reality you already know that. so, lets start out with Hell is not freezing cold if there is one. Please tell me where you received this reverlation and Seraphim is not where we get the term Angel and means"burning ones",Seraphim is one of the kind of Celestial beings that are on the order of Angels that are high ranking in Heaven and they call them "Burning one" or "The Fiery ones".
Angels are not made of fire and wind God says he calls them this because they are swift as a the wind and strong as a fire. Once again I will say there is no proof that scriptures are accurate I don't comment on them.

Actually what would either matter. You're in freaking hell, if there is one.

There are a lot of prophecies, from the OT and the oral tradition, that have been fulfilled in my life. Among them are all the prophecies of my spiritual rebirth, the three wise men, the star in the east with the kings visiting, the drummer boy, the birth of Emanuel, the flying roll, and the voice from Heaven. All of these things happened in about nine to ten months, between August 1983 and May 1984. The "crucifixion" and "betrayal" for thirty pieces of silver have also already happened. The likelihood of all of these things being a fluke is if you took the state of Texas and filled it up three miles high with white poker chips, and planted one blue chip in there, it is more likely that you will find that one blue chip on the first try and blindfolded than it is for all of these things happening to one person. So the odds are astronomical. I'm absolutely convinced.

Explain all please. Where, when and how?

We will have to take them one at a time. Jarrett Lawrence Emanuel was born on April 4, 1984. This is the exact date given by George Orwell on page 6 of his novel "1984". This was also "the acceptable year of the Lord". Isaiah 61:2. Jarrett is Joshua in Hebrew, the same as Jesus in Greek, and it means "Lord is salvation". Lawrence means "good heart" and it is his father's name, Emanuel means "God with us". Jarrett's mother Vicki lived and worked at the Jefferson Hotel while she was pregnant and until he was born. She was separated at the time and in the process of getting divorced. She has kept her marital surname and also named her son's last name "Emanuel". His father is Jewish.

I believe the Bible indicates that Hell is a real place and that consciences are not erased. However for those who wish to be free of evil the memory of evil is not accessible in Heaven or the Kingdom of God.

You mean consciousness. And it is not the worst punishment for people like me. Living blissfully and mindlessly in happy-land for all eternity seems worse.

I believe you are welcome to the alternative. I think the worst punishment is not the remembering all the bad things you did but the continual boredom of fire day after day although without a sun moon or darkness there is no way to tell time so there is just endless fire.

Well, consider an awful murderer who gets life in prison or the death penalty. They've paid their debt. Would it then be right for them to get a second helping of punishment in the afterlife?

Sometimes people in jail repent and seek salvation. If you think you ought to get off for murder because you were already punished for stealing you have another thing coming as the song lyrics go
.
