Looking for volunteers for me to talk to about the gospel of Jesus

NOTE: My reason for posting in a debate forum is not because I want to debate, myself. It’s because I want to allow as much freedom as possible for people to say what they think.

(edit) The Jesus that I’m talking about here is the one that I see in the gospel stories in the Christian Bible. That is not to discourage anyone from talking about any Jesus they want to talk about. It just means that this thread I won’t be discussing any Jesus other than the one that I see in those stories.(end edit)

I’m looking for volunteers for me to talk to about what I think about the gospel of Jesus.

Jesus calls His gospel the “gospel of the kingdom,” the kingdom that He calls the “kingdom of God” and the “kingdom of heaven.” He uses analogies to describe it, for example:
- like a net cast into the sea, and some things it gathered were put into vessels and others thrown away.
- like a king who, when the people he invited to his son’s wedding refused to go, brought in people from the highways.
- like a man who sold everything he has to buy a field where he found a treasure.
- like a merchant with a collection of pearls who sold them all to buy one.

I won’t list all the analogies. Jesus says that people can enter that kingdom by following Him.

That’s it. That’s what I think about the gospel of Jesus. I’m hoping that there will be some comments and questions.

The Kingdom was the theme of Jesus' entire ministry....he taught us to pray for it.....yet many who identify as Christian do not know what the Kingdom is exactly.
Daniel 2:44 gives us a clue....

Ok, so God is about justice right? Meaning.. He could have just forgiven the world of its sins but then it would interfere with free will and would have been an injustice.

So, if God sent Jesus to save our sins.. And if Jesus is God.. Then wouldn't that still be God fixing the problem himself?

It doesn't really make sense to say God is about justice he couldn't fix the problem against free will.. Then say Jesus is God and came to fix the problem.

I don’t know what to say about that. What I see as the gospel of Jesus is that there’s a kingdom that people can enter by following Him. I think that all that theology just gets in the way of people seeing that, and doing it. In fact, I think it repels people away from it, so I think I’ll just leave that alone.

Sure, he was a great Prophet and spoke of "heaven is upon the earth only men can not see".. My only point was that most people today who follow Jesus are Christians and they worship him. If Jesus were here today he would certainly not want that. Other than that he brought us the message of the light and his teachings have blessed many.. Including myself.

Now I need to brush up on this some more. I’ll be reading the gospels again to see what Jesus says about His kingdom, and then looking for clues in them and in the rest of the New Testament, about what attracts people to it. He says people can enter His kingdom by following Him, but why would anyone want to? What is there to see and do in His kingdom, and how can a person know that, to decide if it’s worth all the time and effort, for them, to get into it?

The Kingdom is another dimension, spiritual, where consciousness lives. Gospels mentioned the ways of reaching it, like meditation, temple slip (sign of Jonah), John's baptism , return of Elijah. Jesus said He was teacher of Mysteries.

Well nice quantification.

The text is about qualities. Its written for the bird, which only sees the leaf. It is quantifying but the quality masks the reality and protects the bug. Did you think the text was NOT about nature? Ha., nice quantification mistake. Its totally about nature. Thus the logos is quality and here it is fiction.

I agree that it’s about nature. All of nature, including human nature, and the part of nature that hasn’t been modeled in non-living terms.

yes way deeper than we are capable of grasping. Hell most folks cant Grasp the concept love, so expecting any clarity on the text is extremely doubtful at this time. Someday not today, we are still working on love. Baby steps one song at a time.

Yes very good actually. I think followers get confused obviously. A bit full of themselves as they self affirm themselves. There are great dangers in turning inward as a collective. Then there has to be someone that stands up and speaks with clarity. The herd straightens up just to get all scatter brained the next day. Thats the nature of sheep. The good shepard is always behind the flock watching. They cannot see him he or she sees them. The bad shepard is always in front of the flock, follow me, follow me, i follow jesus, follow me. The sheep follow the sheep in shepards clothing off a cliff.

8"Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

13So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." This is map of evolution of consciousness, road to the Kingdom.

Look at how hard that simple thing is! Why we might as well be talking about the most complex mathmatics ever created ever if that isnt understood. The text turns and becomes invisible! Thats how difficult the text actually is.
Love is a quality of matter and quality is an observable fact. Quantify it and guess what its subjective!!!! We are quantifING like mad right now. Is that reality? NO. ITS SELF DESTRUCTION.

I feel that most people are aware they have a since of being lost. People look to many physical things to fill the gap. So a lot of people are looking for something greater. That's why people follow anything. And if your aware of true knowledge then there is something each person can experience. And once you have a taste you keep wanting to expand consciousness to reach the state which is referred to as the kingdom or heaven.

you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

this agrees with the statement in revelation.

Revelation 3:12
The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.

the name implies that god is present everywhere and thus no one can be separate from god, because it is omnipresent.

The Kingdom is another dimension, spiritual, where consciousness lives. Gospels mentioned the ways of reaching it, like meditation, temple slip (sign of Jonah), John's baptism , return of Elijah. Jesus said He was teacher of Mysteries.

Can you tell me how all of that fits in with Daniel 2:44?

According to the Bible, God's Kingdom is a real government, (a Theocrasy) with an appointed King (Jesus Christ) assisted by a body of "chosen ones" (the elect) who will be ruling with him and acting as priests for redeemed mankind. (Revelation 20:6) These will rule from heaven over earthly subjects....leading them to a reconciliation with God. (a separation was caused by sin, passed to all descendants of Adam. Jesus' sacrifice paid for Adam's sin)

Daniel's prophesies are all about "the time of the end", so the Kingdom is about to assume rulership over the Earth sometime very soon. How do we know this?

Daniel described a march of world powers (those having a connection with God's people) in the form of a large image of a man, with different metals making up parts of its body....Daniel said that head, was Babylon which was overthrown by Medo-Persia > Greece > Rome > Britain and finally ending with the Anglo-American rulership of today...the "feet of clay". (Daniel ch 2)

It is during the world dominance of this last entity that Daniel saw an immense stone that did not come from man, but struck the feet of clay, and the entire system of human governance was crushed out of existence and replaced by the stone (representing God's Kingdom) that became a large mountain and filled the entire Earth. God's Kingdom will "come"....with divine power, and crush all corrupt human rulership out of existence, replacing them with the rulership we should have had at the beginning.

Only after an appalling history of man's failed rulership will God bring back his rulership to this earth so that his creation can enjoy what he purposed in the beginning. (Isaiah 55:11) Precedents are set now for all eternity. No form of human rulership, independent of God has ever been successful and will never rule again. At this time we are seeing the death of democracy. The elements making up the feet of clay undermine its strength.

When Jesus taught us to pray for Gods's Kingdom to "come" it was so that God's will can be done "on earth as it is in heaven".

It's coming....ready or not. It's not some 'airy-fairy', 'pie in the sky' inner experience.....it's a real government with a real King and a powerful army, none of whom are humans with puny military weapons.
Nothing will stop its rightful takeover of world affairs and it will cleanse the earth so that 'the meek can inherit' something beautiful. (Matthew 5:5) God's rulership will then last forever, as it was suppose to from the beginning.....with no more sickness, pain, suffering or death. (Revelation 21:2-4)

This is how I understand the Bible's message.

Bring it on!!!
