You do both know there's an ongoing cold war between them?

Its been a one way deal since 1979.. Iran has an amazing rich legacy and sits astride the oil corridor from the Caspian to the Persian Gulf. The problem is in their heads.. Its their shame.

You don't say!
Then I don't understand your comment about retaliation. It isn't hoped for, for them to exchange blows. It's okay not to retaliate. And if it's understandable for Iran to retaliate - so we're the last thing they received from SA and the Last thing they gave before that (by way of causing harm to the other party).

I.e.. Both are guilty. No need to excuse either specially.

Both governments are disgusting, immoral, arrogant, lying, stealing, murdering, torturing monsters. No way to hide it anymore.

We all but drove Iran into the arms of the Soviets in 1953.. The British made so many mistakes and then we jumped in and made things worse with Operation Ajax.

Remember what happened in Iraq in 1920?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraqi_revolt_against_the_British
The Iraqi revolt against the British, also known as the 1920 Iraqi Revolt or Great Iraqi Revolution, started in Baghdad in the summer of 1920 with mass demonstrations by Iraqis, including protests by embittered officers from the old Ottoman army, against the British occupation of Iraq.

Churchill and Arthur Harris gassed them.

I have been to Iran a dozen times and all that ended abruptly in 1979.

We aren't even trying to talk to Iran. At least Obama got his foot in the door.

The Brits seized an Iranian supertanker with 2 million barrels of crude off the coast of Gibraltar yesterday... on its way to Syria. That is some expensive crude oil.. Look at a blinking map.

I suppose I'm supposed to refute - but where to start?!

Khashoggi, how about it. SA Guilty? Innocent?

SA stands for South Africa. Khashoggi wanted to overthrow the government. Muslim Brotherhood has been banned in Arabia since the early 1970s.. Muhammed Atta and Osama Bin Laden were MB.
Something went terribly wrong and neither you nor I know what happened. Why did Khashoggi go to the Saudi embassy in Turkey? Why didn't he go to the embassy in NY or Washington DC?

Oh I know what happened. Everybody knows. But I see you've made up your mind. About everything. It's okay. It won't make any difference.

How do you know? Seriously? Do you know Khashoggi's grandfather was physician to Ibn Saud and his uncle was a high profile arms dealer? How does it make sense that they conspired to kill him in the Saudi Embassy?

You sure don't know anything about the Saudis.
I know that people like me are executed there for simply being ourselves. **** the KSA. I'd rather live in Iran. It's offensive and absurd to see you constantly carrying water for their corrupt totalitarian regime. Makes one quite suspicious.

What do you mean people like you? What?

LGBT people. Not to mention the complete lack of religious freedom. At least there's churches and synagogues in Iran.

Dear God.. They don't kill gays in Arabia? The state will pay for gender reassignment surgery. I went to Sunday school, Church, choir, Vacation Bible School in Saudi Arabia for nearly 20 years.

You do know that the big cities have robust gay communities.

Remember Mathew Shepard? He wasn't killed at home in Arabia.. He was murdered in Wyoming.

Where are you getting this from? Saudi Arabia doesn't recognize trans people. Shepard was not a Saudi citizen and only lived there for a time in his youth because his father worked for a Saudi company. Foreign guests of course would have less restrictions than Saudi citizens. They want $$$$$, obviously, which is their real god. Not that that means anything for Shepard since he was just a kid when he was there.

"Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in Saudi Arabia face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents, and Saudi Arabia is considered to have one of the worst LGBT rights records in the world. Both male and female same-sex sexual activity is illegal. LGBT rights are not recognized by the government of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi social mores and laws are heavily influenced by Arab tribal customs and ultra-conservative Wahhabi Islam. Homosexuality and being transgender are widely seen as immoral and indecent activities, and the law punishes acts of homosexuality or cross-dressing with punishments of fines, public whipping, beatings, vigilante attacks, chemical castrations, prison time up to life,[3] capital punishment[4] and torture.[5]

...

The Saudi government views cross-dressing and being transgender as being prohibited under Islamic jurisprudence, and is therefore illegal.[29] Criminal sanctions for cross-dressing tend to be the same for homosexuality, i.e. torture, whippings, fines, imprisonment, capital punishment, and, for foreigners, deportation.

The Saudi government does not permit sex change operations to occur in the kingdom, and it does not allow people to obtain new legal documents to have their gender changed on their documents. Much like with homosexuality, family members may feel obligated to kill an LGBT sibling or relative in order to "save face" or restore the family's honor and esteem within the community.[30]

...

People with a transsexual or transgender identity card are not allowed to make the pilgrimage to Mecca.[34]

...

The criminal penalties against homosexuality and cross-dressing are regularly and strictly enforced against Saudi citizens as well as expatriates working in the kingdom."

So apparently even foreign workers are punished under these laws. But, hey - at least they're apparently not executed but just deported. How kind. Please tell me another fairy story.

Please tell me another fairy story.

Nice cut and paste. Public displays of affection are not part of their culture even for heterosexuals. Gays are sort of invisible like they used to be in the US.

Honor killing is rare in Arabia and treated like murder.

Find the source of your article... They have not lived in Arabia.

Same-sex sexual activity is a crime in 70 countries, and can get you a death sentence in nine countries, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Yemen. And even where these restrictive laws are not actually enforced, their very existence reinforces prejudice against LGBTI people, leaving them feeling like they have no protection against harassment, blackmail and violence.

LGBTI rights and what Amnesty is doing to protect them

I know that public displays of affection (except men holding hands or kissing, ironically) are off-limits in many Middle Eastern cultures but obviously heterosexuals aren't being executed. So that's not what is being discussed.

I'll believe public sources of information and experts over some random stranger on an Internet forum who seems to have an unknown agenda.

Iran Threatens to Destroy Israel in 30 Minutes: Does this Confirm Prophecy of a Speedy Gog and Magog?
https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/132663/iran-threatens-destroy-israel-30-minutes...
1 day ago · Iran is over 1,100 miles from Israel. Intercontinental ballistic missiles travel at approximately 3.5 miles per second. Based on these figures, a nuclear-capable ICBM from Iran would arrive in Israel 5-7 minutes after being fired. In this case, Zolnour’s threat of destroying Israel

excerpt:

On that day, when Gog sets foot on the soil of Yisrael—declares Hashem—My raging anger shall flare up. Ezekiel 38:18 (The Israel Bible™)

A senior Iranian official threatened Israel but revised his threat from seven minutes until total obliteration, to half an hour. This raised the question of precisely how long the War of Gog and Magog will last.

It was reported in Mehr news on Monday that Mojtaba Zolnour, the chairman of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, threatened Israel with retaliation that would entirely destroy the country.

“If the U.S. attacks us, only half an hour will remain of Israel’s lifespan,” Zolnour said on Monday, according to Mehr.

This is not the first time Zolnour has threatened Israel and if anything, he gives Israel slightly more leeway than he did in his previous threats. In 2017, Zolnour threatened the U.S. and then expanded his threat to include Israel.

The US army’s fifth fleet is “all within the range of Iran’s missile systems and they will be razed to the ground if the enemy makes a mistake,” Zonour said. Doubling down on Karimpour’s threat, he added, “And only 7 minutes are needed for the Iranian missile to hit Tel Aviv.”

Iran is over 1,100 miles from Israel. Intercontinental ballistic missiles travel at approximately 3.5 miles per second. Based on these figures, a nuclear-capable ICBM from Iran would arrive in Israel 5-7 minutes after being fired. In this case, Zolnour’s threat of destroying Israel in half an hour seems realistic. Of course, this is only true if Israel does not utilize its robust anti-missile capabilities.

Assuming that:
1. Iran has the missiles to do so
2. Iran actually has the will to do so
3. The U.S. does not destroy the capability before it could even be used (refer to Dessert Storm)
4, Iran believes they could accomplish this and not end up themselves being anything but a radioactive ruin in the desert afterwards.
