To what extent are Islamic terrorists inspired by Muhammad and the Quran?

Road Warrior

Seeking the middle path..
According to traditions Muhammad experienced His first Revelation from God through the angel Gabriel in the cave of Hira 610 AD. The Quran was revealed over the next two decades. Muhammad taught His people they should turn away from polytheism and be like the Christians and Jews and worship the One True God. This Divine Message was not well received by Muhammad’s people, particularly the Quraysh who arose to destroy Him and His followers. The Muslims fled to Medina, but they were pursued and so had to defend themselves in several battles. Muhammad and the Muslims were ultimately triumphant and went on to unite the tribes of the Arabian Peninsula.

Some of the Quran was composed during war time. Certain verses if taken out of context could be seen as condoning violence. Did the example of Muhammad’s willingness to take up arms when necessary (albeit for self defence) provide inspiration for future generations to take up arms during other times of need?

So with this thread I’d like to explore to what extent Muslim extremists are inspired by the Quran and Muhammad Himself? What about other influences such as the Hadiths, Sira and the early history of Islamic expansion? Are there parallels within Christianity’s expansion and history of violence? How do you see it and why?
I think they are as inspired by the Quran as the KKK is inspired by the Bible. Both cherry-pick the parts they like and forget the rest. Both use those cherry-picked parts to justify their actions.

So your saying he was confused because he was over 90 and imagined it?,this is a sahih Hadith,he didn't do much different from any other warlord in history.

No.. I am saying most hadiths are not authenticated... About 10 years ago not too long after King Salman took over after Abdullah had pasted on, the educated young clerics in Arabia announced that much of what had traditionally passed for Islamic was not Islamic at all but tribal traditions and ancient habits. It was all over the news for months and well accepted by the Saudis.

Some verses even "if taken within context"

Good and valid questions. Would be very good for Muslims/Christians to read these questions and do some introspection

What about thinking why even interested in this matter
What about thinking "why even responding to this thread" or even "why joining RF in the first place"?

Rules of warfare in Islam are enlightened compared to the Old Testament.

Such would be good if domanassa or certain somanassa arises, of course. Understand that might explain why one tells: take care, you walk straight into a mine-field.

Told, walking on, well...

So what are you saying?
Because there are war mentioned in the Old Testament, 2500 years before Muhammad, the Quran has the authority to commit Jihad, Rape, Torture, theft, murder?
Why do you twist reality so far?
In between the Old Testament and the new Taesament, we have Jesus who tells us that Murderers, rapists, thieves, adulterers, warmongers, whoremongers, will go to hell.
Taken in this regard, the Quran and |Muhammad will burn in hell according to Jesus!

What now?

And you just displayed your error.
Christian Apolgists are not choosing these violent stories to make a case to portray Muhammad as a violent war and whore monger!

That's exactly what Christian apologists do.

Correction -
The Quran was revealed during war time and Muhammad was told when to take up arms by Allah. And Allah being all knowing did not just happen to make those revelations and then later realize like you that it seems somehow inconvenient with all the terrorists now.

In that they are not so unique. Who doesnt do that?

(Off-topic) What about thinking why even interested in this matter. Fear has reason, and in a hand hand without wounds (no real virtue, metta), how could poison ever penetrate into?
Feels a bit "belittling" or "dismissive" to me. As if you see yourself as a teacher to teach @adrian009 something

What about thinking "why even responding to this thread" or even "why joining RF in the first place"?
Hence my remark

IMO, it might be good to start a topic on this yourself, if you find this such an important issue, thereby avoiding what I mentioned above

Told, walking on, well...

Could you please explain why you gave me this video to watch?

good, and if my person would go into that, he would return the same to householder Stvdv, but he doesn't.

His remarks have been read, and guessing not having taken side, surely well meant.

Again, all a matter of love, pema. See?

In the koran it is forbidden to kill non-combatants.. women, children, the elderly and livestock. In the Koran it is forbidden to destroy trees, crops or water sources.

Only defensive war is permitted AFTER the Holy months..

And, Muslims are required to enter peace talks as soon as the enemy signals his intentions.

Further, any Muslim who kills an innocent is doomed to hell.

Your education is poor.

Only if they wage war against Allah!!!
Ok, so how does anyone wage war against Allah?
If he teaches everyone jesus is God!
Why?
Because Muslims must kill the idolaters wherever they find them.
Why is a Christian an Idolator?
Because he makes Jesus equal to Allah!

Any Muslim who kills another Muslim is doomed to Hell!
Muslims are required to enter peace talks as soon as the enemy signals his intentions.
Then Muslims must humiliate them and take Hizia tax from them.
Only leave them once they repent! This means, when they turn Muslim!

wake up!

Sooda. I am smelling a dead rat.
You call yoursel a Christian, yet you are a vehement defender of the Quran and Muhammad.
I have the right to test your spirit.
1. Tell me, do you agree that Muhammad was not a prophet of YHWH.
2. Do you worship Jesus as God?
3. Do you believe that Jesus was crucified, killed, and rose from the dead for your salvation?

Who the hell do you think you are? You have NO rights where I am concerned. I am a Christian but ignorance is NOT a requirement to be a Christian.
