Trump meets with ever Ayatollah they have and they meet with pistols at dawn with twenty paces. And if Trump refuses I will agree to be his second and meet with pistols with whomever they choose. What could go wrong?

If fistcuffs are necessary I will volunteer but it must be the Marquis of Queensberry rules

You don't need rules. Just ask them a question that stumps them, and while they're trying to figure it out, do your dirty work. Here is an example question:

We live in the United States. Men nowadays can't fight ask many southerners who rather use "meh guns" rather than fisticuffs.

Yeah, what's up with that? What happened to the days where the strong used their fists, and the weak used clever tactics like getting naked since everyone knows how hard it is to fight someone naked?

You could also try inviting them out to golf in a minefield.

The pen is mightier than the sword.....but a cruise missile couldn't hurt.

There was also a science-fiction story about real war games. Each side chose the same number of soldiers and had the same weapons. The weaponry was chosen to exclude nukes and mass destruction weapons of any kind. The entire spectacle was broadcast on TV as well.

The object was to be the last survivor. In the story the survivor was granted immunity from all laws - he could do anything he wanted and not be punished for it.

The winning country was, of course, the winner of the dispute which caused the war.

Let's just zap Iranian military electronic devices with Counter-electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missiles that'd render Iranian military weapons useless.

I'm willing to bet that Iranian military types have access to youtube.
So it's likely that they've developed countermeasures.
Are you willing to start a war on the hunch that it will go exactly as expected?
We tried that in Vietnam, Iraq & Afghanistan.
How successful were we?

My solution:

We take all the leaders of both countries and drop them on an uninhabited island in the middle of the ocean.

That's it. No supplies, no plan to pick up the surviv...eh...winners. Just drop them off and leave.

Then select new leaders.

Repeat as necessary until both countries have leaders who won't see war as being the best possible solution to whatever ego or size issues they're overcompensating for...

Agree.

Plot twist: The leaders all love being together, so they don't even protest it.

"The technology now would open up the use of HPM weapons on different weapon platforms and disable the capability of the adversary even before the hostilities commence. As the HPM technology proliferates, it is but natural that countermeasures like passive shielding of all electronic gadgets particularly used in weapon systems and supporting elements will become a norm. The countermeasures and defence against HPM weapons would call for better and sophisticated technology than the weapon system itself. With the wide-ranging research and development, the HPM weapon systems would soon mature to be fielded as war fighting machinery and provide for capabilities over comprehensive spectrum of warfare."

As a LEO I could fight pretty well, though I got my *** kicked more than once.

Today I am too old to fight, too slow to run, but I can still put 3 rounds dead center mass in a second and a half.

Weapon systems design was once my business.
One thing I learned.....
Whatever one side comes up with, the other side will counter.
And the efficacy of the latter is very hard to predict.
Politics & public reaction further muddy the waters.
So war isn't like a smooth road trip to Disney World.
When we plan how it will go, Cthulhu laughs at our hubris.

Trump has already authorized the beginning of this war.
He & staff had heated 'discussions', & it was called off...for now.
(Check your news sources. It happened.)
No doubt Russia & China (now good buddies) view this as not
just heinously immoral, but also an opportunity to gain power in
the region.
In the name of justice, with a wee bit'o profit, would they took Iran's side?
What would you advocate if we had to battle them too?

Note:
An engineer I know worked on a project designing hardware specifically
designed for a boots on the ground invasion of Iran. If this is rather
common knowledge in the engineering community (not a secret project),
we should suppose that Iran is aware, & planning to bloody our noses
in self defense.
Consider also that because we've used nerve agents (by proxy) against
them, we've thus green lighted their using the same on us. It's potentially
a much more deadly & costly war than the one we waged against Iraq.
