MURDER, GENOCIDE, and ATHEISTS.

Why would you become a Christian Fundie? ;)

I'm not one but from what I've read, they condemn the act, not the thought.

I didn't say I would but I did want to pose the question. I was kind of a Christian of sorts when I joined here. I'm now I guess Pantheist/Panentheist - though some upon reviewing my beliefs, say I don't 100% fit the description.

I am just not very tolerant of hippies (I was a punk rocker in my youth). Anyway that said, some find it difficult to respect the differences and they either try to crush the opposition like in big atheists v. Christians battle or they try to assimilate your beliefs into their worldview and end up twisting them like New Agers v. just about everybody.

Another thing, I am kind of suspecting that some atheists on this board are high school or college kids who just discovered atheism and are out to prove themselves by being edgy little edgelords.
Far out, man.. :D
(..coming from an old hippie..
and former atheist..)

:hugehug:

The more militant, intolerant atheists are not really philosophers, like i am used to. They are ideologues, bent on destroying Christianity, and promoting their beliefs, and they use any and every tactic to that end. I coined the acronym, 'MADAs', (not MAGA!) sometime back.. militant attack dog atheists...

I seldom use it, except as return fire for some endearing term of their choice, like 'fundie nutter!, or 'extremist!'

The intensity of their hostility can be disconcerting, to a rational, civil human being. But they are quite harmless (for now), and they mostly throw ad hom grenades and run. I pull the pins, and throw them back.. ;)

I am loathe to provide glib answers, for something that is between each person and the Creator.

No, i don't think progressive indoctrinees are 'screwed up!', just indoctrinated with a constant drumbeat of propaganda, from all the world's institutions.

My advice?

Question Authority
Seek Truth
Face Reality
Know Thyself

Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear. ~Thomas Jefferson

He that would seriously set upon the search of truth, ought in the first place to prepare his mind with a love of it. For he that loves it not, will not take much pains to get it; nor be much concerned when he misses it. There is nobody in the commonwealth of learning who does not profess himself a lover of truth: and there is not a rational creature that would not take it amiss to be thought otherwise of. And yet, for all this, one may truly say, that there are very few lovers of truth, for truth's sake, even amongst those who persuade themselves that they are so. How a man may know whether he be so in earnest, is worth inquiry: and I think there is one unerring mark of it, viz. The not entertaining any proposition with greater assurance than the proofs it is built upon will warrant. Whoever goes beyond this measure of assent, it is plain receives not the truth in the love of it; loves not truth for truth's sake, but for some other bye-end. ~John Locke

Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth. ~Albert Einstein

You have personal rancor towards me, and display it in you words, fine. You will receive no tit for tat responses from me .

Is that you, Gunga Din? :D

Not me. If someone is going to throw tats, I'll return tits.. wait.. maybe it's the other way around.. ;)

Actually, I'd be fine giving out tats for tits.. kind of a barter arrangement?

What country are you in? ;)

Or more accurately, what planet are you from? ;)

America is steeped in progressive ideology, and has been in post Christian decline for half a century.. maybe more.

Just a skim through this forum reveals the constant anti-christian propaganda, from progressives.

Other than a few die hard loyalists, the worldview of historical Christianity is constantly being drowned out by the competing 'religion' of Progressivism.

'Seeking Truth' will take great effort, and Divine Ability, imo..
I don't know how anyone could say this with a straight face in the country with the highest Christian population in the world.
Is the majority being horribly oppressed by the minority? Gimme a break.

But if we go for "an eye for an eye" no one is going to be left with any eyes.

Another "obvious" here is that while this forum
tries to be a friendly one, there was no such
intent in the OP.

The OP is an invidious attack on the
character and decency of a large percent
of this forum. Not to mention millions of others
unknown to any of us.

The OP has no evident intent to attempt to resolve
or improve anything, but has succeeded
in doing the opposite.

One might ask "why" but an insightful
response is improbable
No such intent ? Facts are unfriendly ?

Atheists disparage and belittle Christians every day. Our beliefs are mocked, what we hold extremely important is regularly dragged through the verbal mud.

A simple post regarding atheist mass murderers, a historical fact, is an individual attack on millions of people ?

Have you ever brought up the crusades or the inquisition to Christians ? By your standard that is a grievous attack on millions of us. No, it is historical fact that we have to process and deal with.

I simply cannot understand your rage, nor your personal attacks.

This is a debate forum, it ain´t beanbags. I sometimes get angry, but try my best to leave out the personal stuff because it is childish. My anger is over quickly, and I try and respect the most noxious atheist.

You are choosing to be upset and angry over nothing.

If history and opinions bother you, maybe you shouldn´t get involved, for your own good.

¨You¨ statements are personal accusations, personal attacks.

I have not once accused you of anything, said anything about how you relate to your belief structure..

The only you statements I recall making to you were complimentary and supportive.

I told you no such thing about mass murder, you are assuming, wrongly. Nor do I think others are like me, and I never said that.

You have personal rancor towards me, and display it in you words, fine. You will receive no tit for tat responses from me .

The issue is that atheists in control of governments, almost 60% of them, committed massive genocide.

Respond to the facts.
Why can't you answer the question?

Eh I want to apologize on behalf of myself and nonChristians. I didn't understand where you were coming from for a very long time. Guess I just had my head in the clouds. I think I might understand now. Perhaps.

Correct. Christians deal with temptations just like everyone else.

I have a friend, a homosexual, who is celibate because he is totally committed to being a Christian.

His free choice, and I have the deepest respect for he and his faith.

Of course you had no friendly intent, lets not
be disingenuous.

That clarified, I trust, lets look at facts.
Not that everything you said is a fact, but,
facts that there are are readily misrepresented,
especially by one who has a specific agenda
as you so non-dispassionately and obviously do.

Here are some facts. Your face is lopsided, your teeth
are crooked. Your nose is crooked. One ear is bigger
the other. You have big pores, your teeth are
rotting, and your nostrils are full of germs.

Not a word of that is less than a fact. heck, it is true of
you, me, and the man behind the tree.

Where your charges against "atheists" blend off from
statistics into opinion misrepresentation and falsehood,
where it holds some water, I have preferred to leave
to others.

The specifics of your charges, I will set aside for
now, but may come back to it. Lets look at your
charge against 'atheists" who so deride what you
seemingly say are all the beliefs of all christians.

This is, if it happens, quite rare, and is in no
way characteristic of atheists. I would like to see
an example, I'd be as likely to go after the perp as you.

Now, this is a debate forum. IF you bring in
some baloney ideas, you will find them come
under dispute. If you cannot handle it without
having a blow out, then avoid being here.

An example of baloney ideas would be the literal
reading of genesis. A belief in a literal 6 day poof and
the flood can only be achieved through ignorance,
and for those who can no longer claim the status of naif,
via intellectual dishonesty.

IF anyone comes along expecting full
respect and gentle massaging when you charge in
denouncing science in the name of a moldy
superstition, well, too bad. You wont get it.

Further, the centuries long reign of those ideas
over good sense is still not over, and, attempts
to force it back into public schools never stops.
Push back, not always polite, is inevitable.

I have two questions for you. A try at an honest
reflective answer would be appreciated.

1. What do you hope to accomplish with this thread?
2. Can you just say yes / no to the question
of, would you kill me if god told you to?

You only get to apologize on your own behalf.
