Cockroach gut produces milk that is 3 times healthier than buffalo milk.

(IUCr) Structure of a heterogeneous, glycosylated, lipid-bound, in vivo-grown protein crystal at atomic resolution from the viviparous cockroach Diploptera punctata

"The crystals are like a complete food - they have proteins, fats and sugars. If you look into the protein sequences, they have all the essential amino acids," said one scientist from the team, Sanchari Banerjee.

The leader of the project Ramaswamy says:

"It's time-released food if you need food that is calorifically high, that is time released and food that is complete. This is it."

But how does it taste?

Are you sure the last word was "it"? Anyway, yuk! I hate cockroaches - they're the only living thing that makes me cringe...I think I'll pass.
I ate a fried cricket once. Didn't enjoy it much, although I suppose you could get used to it. A lot of scientists think insect derived protein is the answer to future nutrition problems. Gunna need a heck of a lot of marketing to get past the ick factor.

That's less important than what you call it.

Here's a marketing scheme. Leave out the gross "roach" part of cockroach. Everyone hates those.
Just call it "cock milk". Put it on the shelf next to almond milk and soy milk at your local Wal-Mart. Everyone likes cock milk, don't they? Even I would give that a try.

Hey, @Quagmire. Want some cock milk?

Feed it to the astronauts. They'll eat anything.

It is going to take some massive new miniaturization technology to make this a reality:

We're getting one step closer to the video game Metroid where Samus gets infused with Chozo DNA. I'm ready for it.
