King James only?

I have only run into a couple of them. They are pretty hostile and I don't think their preachers have much education.

Some do some don't. There are quite a few of them in my part of the country. I know some who are college educated, but their seminaries revolve around the KJV only movement (cult really). they believe that the only Bible translation that God approved for the English speaking people is the KJV. In fact if you graduate from one of their seminary schools and it is found out later that you use a different translation than the KJV, they will pull your credentials. This twisted view is common among some Missionary Baptists as well.

Wow.. Can you imagine ANY belief that can't be questioned?

I was at a Bible study once about twenty years ago where one of these KJV only ministers was present. I politely challenged his views but rather than engage in an intelligent conversation, he went into what I can only describe as some sort of tap dancing fit of rage, throwing around terms that I'm sure he had no idea what they meant. I didn't improve the situation as I couldn't help but laugh.

As a non-Christian, I prefer the KJV for the evocative language even though it's not the most technically accurate.

When it comes to The Holy Bible, is there anyone on here who’s of the “King James Only” persuasion? If so could you please explain your reasons?

Bottom line, Eddi: I suspect that there ain't a "KJV only" believer who is also a member of RF and that none would be caught dead around here.

Come to think if it, I suppose you're right!

I've never encountered one before and was hoping there might be one here
