That depends on your ontological philosophy. What do you choose to label "real" and why? Does your conception of fairies fit (or not) your limits of what you call real?

One thing about fairies I definitely believe is that we badly need to get away from the Disney image.

Can we please go back to portraying them like this:

Well, that covers enough variation to not be particularly helpful...

They certainly exist as a component of various cultures' world views, storytelling, and folklore/mythology.

I have some personal experiences--which I am not at all interested in discussing or defending or proving--with things that others would say are the fae.

So, I'll say yes, in at least two different ways.
