Voting for myself (figuratively)

I'm kind of destroying myself from the inside-out based on narrow-minded views which I keep. I've changed my opinions a lot on things since joining the forum and I don't want people worrying about me because of it, rather whenever I frequent a forum, my views change more often as I am corrected on error and wrong notions. So I had a chance to step back and see the bigger picture and see how liberalism and the rhetoric I direct at Trump can be damaging to myself. So with that, I'm not sure my long-time, since way before I joined the forum, belief in liberalism should be for me. It seems like everyone has biases, just the Democrats have slightly more visions of granduer that are fueled by high levels of education. With Republicans, replace the word "education" with "religious belief". So here's what I'm going to do. When it gets down to the last two candidates, I will vote based on who I think had the tighter debate. If it's Trump, I will vote for him, even if I have to take a shower afterwards.

If you really want to know what changed my mind, it was probably posts here, some self-reflection, and some of the actual quotes I've been reading from Gandhi.

There are a few members I'd like to mention positively in this post, if allowed. @Enoch07 because I feel our difference in views may have caused some two-sided tension, maybe. Sorry. @dybmh for being a great friend to me for quite some time. @PopeADope for putting up with me and not getting too steamed at my Democrat "lol" pictures.

I'm also thinking about leaving the religious and political and hot-button threads to a degree after this as well. Issues only get resolved in them two percent of the time. Guess I might just have to Unwatch some threads and cozey myself down into certain corners of the forum. I don't want to have to live with myself for simply introducing more questions, and sometimes unimportant ones, than I can answer.

So while it may be more logical for me to vote for say Biden than Trump to some people, disliking people is only hurting myself. I'll see how Trump can handle important issues.

While I'm eating crow, I might as well go all the way with it. I think there was at least one element of truth to something KenS said if he suggested that religion provides a baseline for one's morality. Sort of like a line you wouldn't have otherwise. Even if morality isn't "always" decided by religion. At this time I only really accept this idea the way I just worded it, though. So if something else was meant, sorry. But hey, it's a start I think.

Anyway, I'm going to see if I can't spend more time talking light-hearted subjects and video games. My soul needs a rest.

@KenS

You are absolutely correct! Certainly not all laws are decided by religion. Helmets for motorcyclists is not a religious point :) .

Have a great time at the video game.

Shalom.

@AT-AT no need to apologize for being yourself.

I owe apologizies in cases where I think I can strive a little harder and am not quite getting there, and everyone needs to apologize sometimes when entering the subject of Politics because it's a subject that tends to suck one's soul into the depths. Lol.
