Vatican says gender theory and attempt to "annihilate nature"

The Vatican has published a 30 page document called "Male and Female He Created Them," insisting that gender being determined by personal feeling rather than biology was an attempt to "annihilate nature."

This seems myopic, to me.

Disclaimer: though I am gay, I am physically male and I also completely identify as male. (I am also fat these days, because due to spinal problems, I can't exercise like I used to, however, I identify as thin. Therefore, I think I may well be called "trans-slender. :D)

Apparently, the Vatican, by virtue of its deep roots and expertise in all the sciences, has determined that biology, where it concerns the human brain and body, insists that it is all one. Thus, any notion that biology could, in one physical being, create masculine external genitalia and a brain wired to feel female would be an impossibility.

I wonder if they are prepared to explain their research in one or more of the relevant peer-reviewed science journals?

Or if they're just going to stick with, "look, you've got a dick...man up!" (Or the equivalent the other way, but I'd have trouble putting that into acceptable language.)

If they tried, upon rejection it would just be dismissed as the god-hating secular sciences that have an agenda to automatically reject everything that is even remotely related to religion.

Ironically i know there are good scientists in catholicism. Then there is everyone else. Religion is septic tank with septic tank flowers, like most stuff in life that entails more than about 2 people. We tend to be drawn to what we are.

Don't care what the church thinks but as a student of the mind there is no such thing as a brain wired to be female or a brain wired to be male. Other than statistically (average or mean) there is no such thing as a male mind or a female mind. Individually women can be more different from other genetic women mentally then as they are from genetic males and men can be more different from genetic males mentally than they are from genetic women.

Humans are to individual to be classed into one or two selections. Yet we continue to do it?

What do you mean by "a student of the mind?" Are you familiar with the Swedish study that shows that male pheromones that typically affect female brains also affect the brains of homosexual men, though are unnoticed by heterosexual men. And further, since pheromones are operating at the lowest, chemical level, that this provides evidence that the wiring in the homosexual brain is different from the wiring in a heterosexual brain.

That's just one part, there's lots more. What I'm trying to make clear is that "mind" is not the same thing as "brain" although mind does arise from brain. When I talk about brain, I'm talking about the processes, almost totally unconscious, rather than mind, which is mostly the conscious bits we're aware of, that make up a very small portion of what's going on in that grey mass.

Each cell of our body has a DNA in its nucleus. Genetic mutations can occur under certain circumstances..that is how evolution works.

I mean...an Argentinian sexually repressed Pope trying to explain what gender and sexuality are...

Isn't it funny, SW?

Thats just rubbish because its a fact of physiology that there are differences between a male brain and a female brain. And we make these distinctions (often there are more than two) in every single culture. Even non-humam animals do it.

It would be if it wasn't so pathetic. It's like someone who never dealt with addiction trying to tell an addict what addiction is. A celibate man, presumably a virgin, and he's gonna speak of sex and gender? I might as well get hunting advice from the anti-hunting people at PETA.

Who cares what a cult of self-hating celibate men who abuse children have to say, especially when it comes to proclaiming anything as "natural" or "unnatural".

As a daughter of Lilith, I am always glad to be of service and spreading the corruption upon His creation. Nature as he made it is dreadfully boring. And wouldn't have Eddie Izzard, and hes too funny to not have around. So yay corrupting gods design!

Last time I checked these idiots believe a virgin gave birth to a baby so I'm not sure they're best-placed to decide what is and is not natural.

Sounds good. No problems here.

Define either a woman's brain or mind versus a man's brain or mind. There is no valid definition that separates the two. Men have many physical and chemical differences throughout the body from women and the level's vary between men as well. Your pheromones theory just indicates that the pheromones are different, jumping to the brain being wired differently is not scientific.

Define the Male Brain vs the Female brain then. There is no scientific definition I'm aware of.

Isn't getting rid of "Nature, red in tooth and claw" the whole point to morality?

To me it is. Humans are "naturally" inclined towards theft, murder, and rape. That behavior helps spread genes in the natural world. Those behaviors are ingrained into our instincts by a billion years of evolution.

It's the beautiful and saintly people who live the most unnatural lives. Cooking, charity, and literature are examples of unnatural behavior.

First of all there are clear examples of inter sexuality in nature...
Secondly...our souls are nothing but chemical impulses.
Saying men and women are chemically equal is absolutely wrong.

I have no problem with men wearing lipstick and dresses and sleeping with other men. But they are still men. When they start calling themselves female and using the ladies restroom, that becomes a problem. If you have a penis you are a man.
