What's Worse: Climate Change, Terrorism or Fake News

Terrorism is killing people
I doubt fake news is killing people except perhaps with laughter.

I guess it depends where your priorities lie
Ditto, plus fake news can be countered by doing the homework using a variety of news sources.

Yep, because all too many really don't want the news-- they want what's called "confirmation bias".

BTW, a good way to start the day, imo, is to use "Yahoo News" as it brings in multiple sources and doesn't just use the ones that slant either left or right.

I disagree.
Most people are either unwilling or unable to devote the time to correct the fake news that they see/hear. Those that do, often follow this train of thought...
Gee...Rush Limbaugh got me really upset with what all those librul commie fascist vegetarians are doing. I bet it isn’t really that bad. No problem, I’ll check out the REAL story on Fox News tonight. Later - on Facebook. “Did you catch the news?”. “Yeah man! Those damn veg-commie-feminazis are coming for our guns because they want to plant drugs in our children’s brains!”. “Yeah, I confirmed it. I even heard Hannity say it. Now git yer guns and post it to all your Facebook contacts, and thank Jesus for Fox News!”

Yes @metis and @ChristineM , they really do believe it.

As such, Fake News can, has, and will make the voting populous ignore real threats, and drive them into an unthinking frenzy about things that are simply not real. Therefore, without correcting/eliminating the fake news, no progress can be made anywhere else.

Edit: Ah, I see you two already got it. :D

How many innocent people does it kill?

But even that doesn't kill people-- at least I hope not.

BTW, I don't know if I'll agree with you on "most people" as I've seen no study that concludes that. Have you?

Homosexual marriage, I opposed it, because it obliterated a word that for thousands of years in Western culture meant MARRIAGE between a man and woman.
It also meant between a man and multiple women, a man and child bride, and/or a man and an unwilling bride who was purchased or captured, but we'll ignore all of that.
But anyway, it appears that rights and freedoms only matter to you if they're things you agree with.

By not taking appropriate action when it would have been easy, and when it would have not been too late; or worse, pressing for anger, fear, and even violence.....on any issue like climate change, drug addiction, ‘the war on drugs’, immigration, on income disparity, on access to safe abortions, on the need for war or to not go to war, etc....
Probably tens of millions of lives over the next few decades. Minimum. :(

No, I don’t have numbers, but I’d be willing to bet that most don’t do more than occasionally scan headlines or listen to one or two (philosophically related) talking heads.
That you are here, discussing this point, suggests that you are much more of a news/political junkie (like me) than the average American Joe. ;)

What a doltish statement. You support genocide and infanticide, denying babies the very right to continue to live.

Yeah, you support rights like hitler did, and the founder of PP, a eugenicist.

You pretend to support individual tights, yet endorse slaughter.

Classic lefty thinking

I thought that as a Christian you would've accepted biblical examples.

Regardless, it's a moot point as gay marriage has been legal for a few years now. How has "traditional western marriage" suffered during this period?

Not at all. Though the WESTERN definition of marriage has changed.

I accept all the Biblical examples from the NT. If you knew a tiny bit of the religion you believe you know everything about, you would know that the NT is the only one that counts.

Straw man ? You support the killing of unborn children on a grand scale, genocide. You are on the side of, and probably support the killing of babies born alive from a botched abortion, infanticide, No straw man, just fact.

Death is your delight.

And this should apply to non-christians because...? If you think something is a "sin", fine, then don't do it. But you can't claim to be pro-freedom while trying to force your religious beliefs upon those who don't share them.

LOL, the western definition of a word has nothing to do with my religious views.

Nice try, but no cigar.

You are misled. Please stop trying to mislead others.
How did Jesus view the Old Testament?

We could cite many reasons for the Old Testament being God’s Word, but the strongest argument comes from the Lord Jesus himself. As God in human flesh, Jesus speaks with final authority. And his testimony regarding the Old Testament is loud and clear.

Jesus believed that the Old Testament was divinely inspired, the veritable Word of God. He said, ‘The Scripture cannot be broken’ (John 10:35). He referred to Scripture as ‘the commandment of God’ (Matthew 15:3) and as the ‘Word of God’ (Mark 7:13). He also indicated that it was indestructible: ‘Until Heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the law, until all is accomplished’ (Matthew 5:18).”
