Why not? Prescription medications are all drugs, which can have very bad side effects including death, and they're legal.Anyway, I think all drugs should be legal. If it's a problem, it's a health issue and not a criminal one. Legalizing it or at least decriminalizing it will clear up most of the criminal issues and a lot of the health issues involved, anyway.
The more things that are NOT illegal, the better.Beginning in 2020, there will no longer be any need to get a prescription for marijuana.
Legalized recreational marijuana is expected to generate approximately $500 million of desperately needed revenue to the state's coffers in Illinois.
Other changes in state law and subsequent taxation: expanded casino gambling, sports betting, and a doubling of the state's fuel tax are expected to rake in an additional $3 billion of annual tax revenue for our state of Illinois.
Hmmm, what gave you the first clue? Just because USNews https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/rankings ranks Ill 50th in fiscal stability? What do you mean Ill has money problems? Just because the governor is being investigated by the FBI for removing 5 toilets from his North Shore mansion? Just because the previous goveror refused to pay ANY state financial debts for 3 years and it finally [took] Mega Millions pulling out of the state to get any action? What do you mean Illinois has financial problems?hmmmm…….
looks like Illinois has money problems
and the solution is what the masses are willing to pay for
I live in Illinois and it's going to upset some other people....
But I vote "Yes". I favor it.
Smoking pot helps me relax and control my temper. ... Like AT-AT says, I live in Illinois.
I don't have a dog in the fight so I'm not voting. But I am for the decriminalization but not making it totally legal.
Decriminalize up to a certain amount maybe 1 oz.? For personal use medical or recreational doesn't matter. Anything more than that without a license to farm/distribute should still be illegal. It must be regulated like alchohol/tobacco for it to be successful and not get out of control.
I dreamed I had a talk with Jesus
late last night
And he said smokin' that marijuana was
quite alright

Indiana won't be far behind.Let's face it the only reason they're legalizing it is because it's the only way we'll avoid forming a lynch mob over higher taxes.
But they are not taxed. Why not? Prescription medications are all drugs, which can have very bad side effects including death, and they're legal.
