Another public school has come under fire for celebrating the Muslim holiday of Ramadan in a way that appears to endorse the religion of Islam.

The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF) reports it happened at the West New York School District in New Jersey.

FCDF sent the letter to Superintendent Ms. Clara Brito Herrera and Memorial High Principal Scott Wolhrab after an anonymous teacher contacted FCDF on behalf of other teachers, all of whom are deeply concerned about the school district's promotion of Islam.

I can't get the link to load.
An alternative?

Finally!
I can see it.
So it seems that Christians aren't the only ones
who'd like to establish their religion in public schools.

Question...Does this school also celebrate Christmas and Easter; Yom Kippur?

If it does, then I fully approve of them celebrating Muslim holidays.

If not, we may have a problem.

I think in this context it's pretty much code for Christianity.
Of course, which is false because America wasn't founded with a state religion and is (supposed to be) secular and multi-cultural. We don't insist that immigrants give up their traditions. We just ask them to agree with American civic ideals.

Yes, but one needs to filter out the religious part of it. Change the wording to a Christian one supporting Easter or Christmas and you should be able to see how this was not a legal sign for a public school.
It would be legal in my country; I'm not sure how yours works.

What I see so far did not answer that critically important question. It's either all (including atheists) or none as far as I'm concerned.

No need for public schools in the US to offer any religious message. Schools seemed to recognize it was wrong since they took the posters down.

Want a religious education, go to private schools.

It's all in how they're teaching culture. Objectively is fine, but it shouldn't be done in a way that violates the establishment clause of the first amendment of the U.S. constitution.

Of course, most of those whining about this wouldn't object to and in fact would likely squeal with delight if Christianity was promoted in a similar fashion.
When we were at school we celebrated Diwali and other things; I think it was a really fun and creative way to teach the kids.
