Three Days and Three Nights

But Pilate's wife saw a dream it is thus recorded in the Bible:

While Pilate was sitting on the judge's seat, his wife sent him this message: "Don't have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him."

So, Pilate managed things that Jesus is kept for the minimum hours on the Cross, therefore he selected Friday for Jesus' crucifixion. Pilate knew that one does not die on the Cross in few hours since he knew the Jews custom regarding the Sabbath.
So, no Jesus was put on the Cross on Friday afternoon not on Wednesday. Please forget about the Wednesday just for time, as time was not the essence of the Sign, "not dying and continue living" was the essence of the Sign. Right, please?

Regards

Clearly Muslims believe that Jesus survived the crucifixion, but stop trying to use the gospels literally.

paarsurrey,
re: "...Jesus was put on the Cross on Friday afternoon..."

How do you account for the lack of a 3rd night?

BTW, He was put on the cross in the morning and not the afternoon.

There is no need to count the period of days, that wasn't the essence of the Sign, the essence was "not dying and continue living", Jesus did not die on the Cross against all odds, that was his biggest miracle he showed to the Jews. It is biggest than the mythical-pagan-Pauline made the the sheep to believe. Saul of Tarsus was the wolf in the sheep's clothing Jesus warned about. Don't you love to see Jesus surviving from a cursed death on Cross, please?
This is my understanding of he event, please. Right, please?

Give one's reasoning and argument, please. One doesn't have any good reasoning. Right, please?
If one love's Jesus and Mary, one would rejoice on Jesus' survival, please.
Right, please?

You are going about this all wrong .. and becoming just annoying.

Why don't you explain WHY Muslims don't believe Jesus died on the cross or that he was the son of God?

Well, Jesus needed to be taken down from the cross BEFORE sundown on the Sabbath.

Literalism will always disappoint you.
I was talking about Jesus rising from the tomb on Sunday morning. Do you have trouble understanding or just want to cnange the subject? And before sundown on the sabbath does not have to be Friday because there are two different sabbaths. Do some research and don't just repeat what others say.

I am giving my reasoning from the NT Bible. Why can't the Bahaullah followers and pagan-Pauline people give reasonable arguments from the Bible, please?
This is my understanding of the event of Cross, as I love to see Jesus survive instead of a vain suicide, willing and cursed death on Cross, please.
Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Bet you can't quote anything that says Jesus died on Friday. Or Pilate picked Friday. And if you were not so anti-Jewish you might find out about the TWO different sabbaths that Jews have.I can't forget about FACTS. Can you accept them?

I am putting you on ignore.

One has a right to do so, my pleasure.
But, doesn't it mean that one, perhaps, couldn't have any reasonable argument with one on the topic of the thread? Right, please?

It is very much in the NT Bible that:
  1. Pilates wife saw the dream which Pilate valued, else, there was no point in showing a dream, if it could cause no effect on the event.
  2. Pilate declared that Jesus was innocent, it showed that Pilate was affected with the dream his wife saw.
  3. Pilate washed his hand off to commit this crime to an innocent man Jesus.
  4. When somebody said that Jesus had died in a few hours, Pilate expressed surprise.
Right, please?

I did not say that Jesus died on the Cross.
I emphatically, unequivocally and reasonably believe that Jesus did not and could not die a meaningless, willful, suicidal and cursed death on the Cross.
Yes Jesus was was put on the Cross but G-d saved his life as Jesus had prayed to G-d with most fervent supplications in the Garden of Gethsemane, and these were heard by Him because of Jesus' righteousness. This is also very much written in the Pauline-Pagan Bible.

You seem to know a lot about the Bible but you did not answer the question. Quote something that says Jesus died on Friday. You keep twisting things to match your ideas but not answer the question.

OK quote something that says Jesus was put on the cross on Friday or Pilate's wife dreamed about Friday. Not your beliefs but quotes.

When was Jesus Crucified?

Researchers are claiming to have discovered the exact date that Jesus Christ was crucified, according to a new geological study released in an academic journal this week. The geological survey, published in the International Geology Review, suggests that Christ was crucified on Friday, April 3, in the year 33.

One of the principal arguments for Friday is found in Mark 15:42, which notes that Jesus was crucified “the day before the Sabbath.”

You are exactly right. But there were two sabbaths that week. Jesus was crucified before the sabbath related to the Jewish Passoverm which was on Thursday.

The study says that this is the "most likely" date based on earthquake study in the area. Not an exact date.
