As a self-proclaimed Progressivist, I'd like to pitch my ideas on the subject of social progress.
-An idea which fascinates me is the concept of self-moderation. Self-moderation is when a community gets together on a shades of grey, not really rule breaking, important issue, and works at presenting themselves better. An example of self-moderation would be if members say, got together and decided not to post in R rated threads that pop up from unknown members. Just an example.
-I've been noticing both in life and on the forum, that people point to other groups of people saying that they're not depicting something well, when it's possible there is an Age Gap in which points are being lost in translation due to the differences in members' ages. Just a theory.
-I noticed a brand new term pop up in the evolution of language. "Toxicity". When a person says that a discussion group has toxicity, they are stating in neutral way that an above-average freedom of expression is allowed, which may get in the way of being seen as a holy discussion group. I like this new term.
This is all I've got for now. I will try to add more later.
