In the Rich Man and Lazarus, we find that dead people’s spirits are carried immediately to reward or punishment. Hear Jesus: “The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried; and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes, and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus in his bosom. And he called out…”

Here we have the disembodied spirits of two dead people feeling, thinking, seeing, talking, reasoning and crying out. Why does Jesus use such ideas if they aren’t true? The Word says that Jesus “brought life and immortality to light,”[9]but if His account here doesn’t reflect realty then Jesus was obscuring the truth about immortality instead of bringing it to light.

The rich man and Lazarus is a parable. Everything in it is symbolic, not literal.
The rich man represented the arrogant Pharisees and the beggar represented the "lost sheep" to whom Jesus was sent. Their deaths represent a reversal of their fortunes. They traded places with the "bosom of Abraham" representing a position of favor with God. The Pharisees lost it.....the spiritual beggars found it by accepting Jesus as Messiah.

Do you really imagine that heaven and hell are in speaking distance to each other?
And could a drop of water on someone's finger cool them in burning heat?

Everything on the website you posted is misinterpreted.

They are true. But remember, Jesus hadn't yet died for all sins so those who had previously died in faith of redemption were held in the place called Abraham's Bosom or Paradise until Jesus finished the work of redemption.

I would disagree with the posters position of "but if His account here doesn’t reflect reality then Jesus was obscuring the truth about immortality instead of bringing it to light" - it does reflect reality and Jesus wasn't obscuring the truth but rather was bringing everything to light and understanding.

The text says nothing about disembodied spirits. If you're going to make things up then you don't need scripture.

Good Jehovah's Witnesses get to heaven, Good Methodists get to heaven, which makes the OPs quarrels with JWs rather pointless IMHO

Sure, but if you quote scripture while making things up then it's easier to get people to take your fantasies seriously.

Something interesting here is how the maker-uppers will instead sometimes add science quotes into their imaginings. Works pretty much the same, and this in turn presents yet another indication that science and religion are one.

The website owner is a deceiver and a fraud because the Scripture NEVER says anything about "disembodied spirits". Nor does it EVER mention "immortal souls" as taught by false religions.

No one gets to heaven who holds antichrist doctrine. Antichrist doctrine claims that Jesus had not come in the flesh that all man share alike. 2 John 1:7

So now you're playing God, that should get you to heaven right quick!!

Scripture is the teaching of Man, hopefully inspired of God but not always, if you rely on scripture rather than God's guidance you may get really confused!!

if you don't have God's guidance, you're kind of lost, no??
