Trigger warning: Can Christians be gay or bisexual?

Revelation 3:10
Gay Christian 101 - Affirming God's glorious good news for all LGBTs.
I say yes. I will keep it clean, but I am attracted to men and women. I believe God can bless a same sex marriage, as long as both partners believe in him. I am sorry if I offende anyone, but I just want to find a Christian partner, who loves me, and I love Him or her. I am so sorry to my LGBT brothers and sisters, who I offended in the past. I was reacting out of fear of Hell, and hatred towards myself. Please forgive me. To people who say gays and bisexuals can't be Christians: What gives anyone the moral right to be a fearmongerer? I consider threatening LGBTs with Hell and torture to be an act of psychological terror, and I repent for my past when I myself did it. LGBTs, please forgive me. I am so very sorry, and even when i was anti LGBT, I was questioning that allegation that I had to be. I don't feel safe right now, because I am questioning religious leaders, and i'm terrified of hell. Please prsy. To my trans friends in Jesus, I am not sure what I understand about your situation, but I love you so much, and repent for bullying you. If my trans friends want to explain to me anything your heart desire, I am willing to listen. I regret bullying y'all. Please forgive me.

Thanks for your beautiful comments.
You are loved and accepted by the Lord just as you are.
You may or may not be loved and accepted by all Christians and all Christian churches.
But only one of the two counts.
God bless you.

That is quite a handful of statements, but thanks for your honesty.

I think the first thing you should do is read a book on grace. Destined to Reign by Joseph Prince is a great one. The reason I say that is because you said you were terrified of hell... no reason to be.

Secondly, such a great statement of asking for forgiveness. No matter what a person does or has done (murder, stealing, or whatever else), our message is a message of forgiveness and not a message condemnation with bullying. Jesus died of that too and you need to know you are forgiven.

Third, we are all attracted to things we should be attracted to. That doesn't mean or translates that somehow you cease being a Christian or that God stops loving you. However, if we love Jesus, we do our best to control desires to please him the best way possible.

Fear is not what Christians preach. 2 Tim 1:7 - "God did not give us a spirit of fear but of love, power and of sound mind". Fear is what Satan uses to control and manipulate people Heb 2:14-15.

Do you want to start there?

May God continue to guide you!

Please forgive me.

Ask and you shall receive in Jesus name we pray, Amen!

To answer the title of your thread: Yes

There are many Christian churches that now are either LGBT established, or LGBT accepting. Also I think the meta is shifting. I think most Christian's like myself have begun to realize that our LGBT brothers and sisters are just ordinary humans. Which is a good thing.

I've come along way down this path myself. And undoubtedly I will catch flak from someone for supporting this idea. But I don't care. I don't se anything wrong with loving our brother and sisters in Christ name, regardless of what kind of label they have on them. Here on RF I met and love 2 dear MtF trans friends. Even though I disagree with 1 of them on just about everything (political mostly and religion).

Anyways keep on keeping on sister!:twohearts:

There's only one definition which Jesus attaches to love... He says if we love Him we must keep His commandments and remember He advised one that the greatest commandment is to love the LORD our God with everything. Also, the Apostle of Grace Paul also warned that those who practice certain worldly things will not inherit the Kingdom e.g homosexuality, and one important note we must heed to is the reason of the destruction "Sodom and Gomorrah". But one thing I have learned through the Holy Spirit who teaches all things is that one can never win any soul by preaching hell fire only by preaching the good news which informs humanity about the escape of the hell fire. As YOUR brother in the Lord I'd say don't be too harsh on anything for Jesus is gentle to His own, so treat yourself and anyone else as he would, however spend a lot of intimate and quality time away from people and present with Him, by that you'll have enough battery to conquer whatsoever stands in your way. ---- fast a lot not always only from food but the world itself, anything offering comfort above Jesus is trying to idolize itself. You are an over comer.

Taking Jesus' example, rather than telling people what they want to hear, he told them the truth....sometimes the awful truth.....things they didn't want to hear. It made them angry. His truth still does.

The Bible is not ambiguous about God's moral laws. God does not hate sinners...but he does hate what they do.
No one is compelled to have sex and no one is compelled to refrain, as if it is somehow the most important activity on the planet, available just for pleasure. Let's not forget its primary function....the fact that it is pleasurable is a bonus....but it was confined to marriage....it still is, because God's moral laws do not change.

Morally speaking, two people who are scripturally married can have sexual relations with a view to starting a family of their own....in the big scheme of things, that has always been the case. SS couples cannot produce children in a natural way. A third sexual party must be involved.

So if you are not married (and there is no reason to assume that same sex marriage is legitimate from God's perspective) then all sexual relations outside of marriage is against God's law regardless of gender. (Mark 10:6-9)

The Bible specifically mentions male homosexual acts as being especially abhorrent because the sacred seed of life is deposited in places that it was never intended to go.....such as the body's sewerage outlet. Not very respectful is it? (Leviticus 18:22) The descriptor used there to describe the act is "detestable"...."an abomination".....nuff said?

Homosexual people have a choice IMO. Scripturally speaking Christians have to love God more than they love themselves. They also have to love their neighbor as themselves. Homosexual acts display no love for God (because what they practice is against his law) and no genuine love (lust is not love) for their partner who also then becomes a sinner in God's eyes.

You see...there is no way to be a practicing homosexual AND a Christian.....you have to choose one or the other.....and those who think that they can combine the two without offending the Creator of life, are kidding themselves. Sorry...

Not a popular opinion, but one fully backed up by scripture.

...And this is a major reason why it has been attacked so vehemently in the last few centuries, IMO.

Nope. “Homosexuality” never appears in the Greek texts.

And the sin of Sodom has nothing to do with homosexuality. It has everything to do with lack of hospitality.

DO You define men forcing themselves on other men hospility? I'd really hate what you call rape?

"Strong's Concordance
arsenokoites: a male engaging in same-gender sexual activity
Original Word: ἀρσενοκοίτης, ου, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: arsenokoites
Phonetic Spelling: (ar-sen-ok-oy'-tace)
Definition: a sodomite
Usage: a male engaging in same-gender sexual activity; a sodomite, pederast."

I’d define men forcibly raping anyone a gross act of inhospitality. Inhospitality was the sin of Sodom.

There is a marked difference between same-sex activity (especially as regards rape, incest, pedophilia, and temple prostitution) and sexual orientation. Sexual orientation (homosexuality) is not discussed in the Greek texts. You’re giving us a great example of eisegesis — reading into the texts what is not there.

Biblehub isn’t a scholastic source. Try again.

Can Christians be gay or bisexual?

Sure, if they're celibate. Even if they've acted on it if they confess it as a sin and ask for the Lord to help them.

But one thing I have rarely, if ever, seen, which doesn't bode well for active gays: Their repentance. Jesus said, "Unless you repent, you too will perish." That goes for heterosexual fornicators and adulterers also.

Inhospitality was the sin of Sodom.

Sexual perversion and immorality was their sin also.

Jude 7 (New Testament): "In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire."

Just a note on correspondence. In as much as one's sexual orientation is not chosen, it "comes with the territory," and one's religion is something we can select and deselect, I believe the better question would be "Can gays or bisexuals be Christian."

Just sayin'.
