Sure it is. Bear in mind that this is above and beyond the "Farm Subsidies".

Nah, it's an offset. ;)

off·set

verb
/ˌôfˈset,ˈôfˌset/
  1. 1.
counteract (something) by having an opposing force or effect.
"the deficit has been more than offset by capital inflows"
Here's an article from 2019:

Excellent evidence let's examine closer. The article I linked was from 2011 the article you linked was from 2019. That's 8 years. Obama was President for 5 of those years, Trump has been President for 3 of those years.

Trump is giving aid to the farmers to help them recover. What did Obama do during those years? Well let's see? Here we go.

In Signing Farm Bill, Obama Extols Rural Growth

From the article: "President Obama on Friday signed the $956 billion farm bill into law."

And you here acting like you mad cause Trump gave them $32 billion!

The point is, farmers debt has been a long growing problem and they needed help to continue going. The $956 billion they got before wasn't even enough, and you certainly didn't have a problem when he spent $956 billion of our money then. With the new tariffs Trump is helping offset the troubles he caused because farmers had already planted with certain expectations. Those expectations won't be met because of his unexpected tariffs. So he is helping by offsetting a problem that already existed.

Have a nice day.

Obama signed a farm bill that was passed by both houses of Congress.

Trump is giving extra billions of money not authorized by Congress. He is paying off farmers to offset his tariff blunders.

Yes, the $16,000,000,000 bailout is old news from last year. Now he is giving another $16,000,000,000. I really wonder where this money is coming from?

That's $32,000,000,000 that the American taxpayers, including you, have to needlessly spend because of Trump's ridiculous tariff war. The worse part is that many industries are affected and they are not getting a bailout. The higher prices they pay for imports are just being passed along to the rest of us, including you. Promises made, promises kept.
Lest it be forgotten, these expenditures were authorized by Congress. So how come Congress has no problem with $16,000,000,000 for farmers but won’t authorize money for needed border security?

Ask your Republican Congressman why that didn't happen in 2016-2017. Maybe they were waiting on a check from Mexico.

Excuses excuses it's ok when you do it. But when the other side does it they are the devil!

Bias is so ugly.

How biased are you that you must conflate Congressionally approved funds with funds from an executive order?

Not biased enough to be outraged by $32 billion, but make excuses for $956 billion.

Not Trumps fault Congress won't work with him because they are more concerned about politics than doing their job.

Perhaps you should elect officials that want to serve the U.S. citizens and not themselves?

Nice try. The Republicans in the House passed a bill in 2017 to fund border security and funding wall construction. The Democrats in the Senate blocked the bill.

Do you really understand what you write? Don't you see the conflicts in your own words?

I did elect an official who served the U.S. citizens and worked with both parties. Congress authorized the farm bill and Obama signed it.

Trump imposed tariffs, hurt farmers and, entirely on his own with no approval from Congress, laid out money to try to appease the farmers.

Then quitchabitzin'! ;)

The tariffs will net a greater benefit for the farmers, and the rest of the U.S. in the long run. Despite catching farmers off guard initially. All will be well. :D

You are right. After Trump gets dumped a rational trade approach will be reinstituted.

Someone will grow it. Do you think there will be mass starvation if

Could be, not worth risking it. Food just don't grow magically overnight. Careful planning is a must.

Let's say we didn't do anything and a bunch of farms failed causing shortages. Well it will take many years to catch back up. So it's best to keep the farms we already have going as much as possible.

The land will be worked by someone; another farmer, a corporation takes it over etc.

What, exactly, is a tariff advantage? How does it help or hurt the American consumer? How does it help or hurt the US?

China's tariffs on American goods were higher than the reverse. This affects America's ability to sell goods in China. It hurts American manufacturers.

With all due respect, your response did not answer my questions.
