I would file a strongly-worded complaint with the FAA for not mandating that planes carry enough life rafts for all passengers.

Only a small % of airlines equip their planes with inflatable life rafts. They are only required to issue life vest and other minor flotation devices.

You can keep repeating that like a mantra if you want, but it does not make me wrong. It leads me to suspect you agree or you would counter my argument logic and facts and not be turning to ad homs.

Oh I did. In post #98. But you wanna make condescending jokes about grey poupon and such so you get some snarkiness back.

Rules say I say I can only pick 1 person based on the room available in the raft. It's clearly stated in the OP.

Even though the pregnat woman counts as 2 lives, she only takes up the space of 1 person. Which meets the requirements of the hypothetical situation.

No loopholes. :D

Stick to your day job, avoid law school. :p
The rules say nothing about the size of the space. Just that it exists and that we can only pick one. The woman being pregnant is two. A loophole. You did a good job setting this up. Does it bother you because a loophole was found or that you did not find it. Things are never as black and white as they appear.

Sure it does. The raft only had room for 1 more before it met its capacity.

You know most equipment has this. In elevators its says max capacity 10 people or 3000 lbs. Something along those lines. Same goes for life rafts, boats, airplanes, buildings, just about everything.

Oh I am sorry. I offended you. I did not realize what a delicate flower you are. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

The fact of the matter is that I discovered it first and that is clear in the body of this thread.

My jokes were not condescending. I think you are upset because there was a loophole and you did not see it until I identified it. Why get all bent out of shape over nothing?

No. Sorry. Room for one more tells us only that there is room for one more. It does not tell any other quantity. The rules did not say one more or 125 pounds or 250 pounds. It said one more. One is not two. Considering that you took advantage of the loophole to, sort of blows your denial out of the water.

No reason to quantify it anymore.

A pregnant lady will weight the same if not less than an adult Male on avg.

Avg Male in the U.S. = 198lbs

Avg female in the U.S. = 170lbs + 25-30lbs for pregnancy = 200lbs.

The weight is basically the same so it is not relevant to the capacity.
