Countries banning of kosher meats are forcing "expulsion" of Jews

It strikes me that topics like "how to safely slaughter animals" should be removed from ALL modern religions. Kosher slaughtering practices were probably "the state of the art" two or three thousand years ago, but by today's standards they are no longer the state of the art in any respect, and they are unnecessarily cruel.

To be clear, this is my opinion regardless of which religion is involved.

The United States envoy against anti-Semitism has condemned the spread of legislation in Europe that limits the slaughter of animals according to Jewish religious tradition as “disgraceful” and “intolerable,” claiming such laws are forcing the expulsion of Jewish communities.

I am sorry to read this. In my understanding, Jewish and Muslim practices are loosely the same. The cut to the neck, without stunning, leaves the heart to pump out as much of the blood as possible. In OT rules, it is forbidden to eat meat with the animal's blood in it. So, this appears to be an attack on religious rules also. Perhaps some think that the prayers thanking God for the food are objectionable?

It is strange that in the movie "Avatar", I have heard no objection to the ritual that the Navi use when killing an animal. It is substantially the same as Jews and Muslims use. HMPH!

Even Christians, the hedonists of religion should be adhering to these rules. Their NT supposedly gives them permission to eat almost anything, not to violate the blood rules. I should think that Jews would be pleased to leave such places?

Interesting clash of morality. Morality IMO is not about facts. It's about feelings. One group feels an obligation to God. The other feels an obligation to limit the suffering of animals.

In a democratic society the majority gets to decide on moral issues. Their really is no religious rights or any other rights outside of that.

Banning infant male genital mutilation (circumcision) has also been
decried as an existential threat to the religion. Is it really so fragile &
inflexible? Christians gave up the auto da fe & the crusades, & witch
trials, yet they survived. Mormons gave up polygamy, yet they survived.

What concessions, specifically?
Christians are not allowed to legally pursue their misgivings regarding witches. Mormons are unable to practice polygamy. American Hindus have all but had to abandon holy symbols of theirs that resemble swastikas too closely. Pagans are unable to make animal sacrifices. Voudonists often encounter the same, and are unable to sacrifice and prepare food as their faith outlines.

I am sure there are many more, those are merely off the top of my head. Judaism is not special among them, and this issue of how animals are slaughtered is a belief, nothing more. They can do without it.

It's just another stupid man made placebo for being "spiritual" and has really NOTHING to do with true spirituality nor anything to do with God. So it all comes down to the cruelty of the animals, that is not in keeping with the REAL God's laws.

I have seen the Halal procedure in Bedouin camps.. They hold the animal to calm it and then quick as lightening they cut the throat in one motion deep enough to cut thru the esophagus. I thought it was more humane than a stun gun and a bullet.

I know which I would prefer if I were that animal.
