Is there a war on Christianity in America's Left?

I do not personally feel like a victim 99% of the time. Someone pushes me, I push back. My attitude is that if someone oppresses me, I'll try twice as hard, flipping them the bird.

But there are times I'm shocked out of that comfort zone. Times when I get scared. There are times when I've been accosted on the street for being a Jew, and I've wondered if I was going to get beat up. I have memories of being molested, which I don't usually remember, but when I do, they still make me sick. I think of Saturday's synagogue shooting, not an hour away from me, and realize that could have been my synagogue. Heck I moved where I am now because where I was before? Two Jews were shot going to morning prayers at the synagogue just down the street. The truth is, I'm not safe, and I simply prefer not to think about it.

Okay, going back into the "not thinking about it' mode.

You will get harassed for whatever ethnicity you
may be. Depends on where you are.
Being female gets you harassed and at risk
everywhere. (as you no doubt noticed)

"The attacks on tourists and Easter worshippers in Sri Lanka are an attack on humanity," Obama tweeted on Easter Sunday.

"On a day devoted to love, redemption, and renewal, we pray for the victims and stand with the people of Sri Lanka."

If there is any embarrassment caused by the using the word Christian, its because so many 'Christians' have twisted it and turned it into a weapon against others.

Correct @pcarl, and while Christ hasn't divided his body into "left" and "right" leaning Christians, it appears some "pastors" are more than willing to take the initiative and do it for him.

And yet, Christians cannot agree on things like abortion, killing, taxation, marital
fidelity, war, etc, etc. Their opinions are of such great diversity that this means
their scripture gives great room for subjective interpretation. And that's just one
of many religions, none of which can claim to be objectively true.

All those issues are covered in the Bible. The reason some Christians don't agree on the issues is they haven't done their homework. Doesn't disqualify the objective truths of God's Word, though.

Have you any idea who Daniel 9:27 is talking about,
Who is that, at the temple will setup the abomination of desolation who exactly is that.
If you had any idea at all the abomination of desolation doesn't happen until the
6th seal is open and the 6th trumpet of Revelation is sounded, and then the abomination of desolation starts happening
This is when the AntiChrist walks into the temple of God and proclaims that he is God and brings down fire out of heaven to the earth
Revelation 13:13--"And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men"

Perhaps you should re-read my posts. Or believe whatever you want.

It shows how far one has to reach to find
examples of anti christian persecution.
I really like one aspect of their being persecuted....
The inescapable implication is that we atheists who are
so few, are yet so powerful that we could accomplish that.
In a sense, they hold us in high esteem.

I know many Christians. And of those, many claim to be well schooled in the Bible.
Yet they still find great opportunity to disagree about the very foundation of their beliefs.
The one thing that 80+% of them have in common is the complete certainty that they're
right, & everyone else is wrong. So many ways to read scripture, eh.
Consider also that you say God's Word is objectively true. But this is no more provable
than those who find the singular inerrant truth in Allah's word....or secular humanism...
....or who knows what other weltanschauungen are out there.

As Wolfgan Pauli would say (if he spoke English)....
"That's not only not right, it's not even wrong."
I wouldn't want to endure his snark, so I don't claim to have "The Truth".

Its probably a toss up as to which came first, the 'Christian' looking for a public expression of what she/he believes, or the pastor persuading the unsuspecting Christian.

Indeed. For instance, despite Deut 24:10-15 clearly commanding that security for a loan can't be held overnight and that workers must be paid before the sun sets on the day that they did the work, Christians who actually follow these teachings are scarce as hen's teeth.

I am confident that if you were being self honest this would read: "The reason some Christians don't agree with me on the issues is that they haven't done their homework."
It's pretty arrogant, in my opinion.

Few things are more subjective than someone's opinion about "the objective truths of God's Word". That's a huge problem with revealed religion in general.

Read this article, and find that in a discussion of the horrendous attacks on Christian Churches in Sri Lanka, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama cannot bring themselves to use the word "Christian." Instead they use the sanitized euphemism "Easter worshippers." Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton tip anti-Christian ‘Easter worshippers’ hats

Why? Has being a Christian become too much of an embarrassment for Democrats these days? And is this just a part of the larger picture of the Left disenfranchising Christianity? It often appears these days that you can be Buddhist, Hindu, Atheist, Wiccan, and even a Satanist (and ESPECIALLY a Muslim) and the ACLU will protect your rights. But if you are a Christian, aren't you seen as the purveyor of prejudice?

I used to think it was we Jews who had it bad. I remember when I lived in North Hollywood, CA and two Jewish men were shot going into morning prayers at their shul -- not a single newspaper or TV media outlet covered the event. And that was typical back then for our neighborhood. Jews were seen as part of the "rich white oppressor" by the Left.

Now the hatred is spreading, and Christianity is the most persecuted religion in the world, first by Islam, and second by the Left. And I'm sorry to say, but the bigotry extends even to my own country.

The problem is that Christians, in general, are spoiled. They are so used to say and do anything without impunity for the last 20 centuries, that now even the smallest objection is perceived as a war on them.

Another mind boggling thing is that they complain. They should be happy considering that this is what prophecy expects. That would mean that Jesus is coming soon.

but Obama and Crooked Hillary ran a thoroughly corrupt administration,
So, now name-calling is now supposedly "Christian"? Tell us, when did that happen?

Also, with the Obama administration there were 0 indictments with 0 plea deals and 0 admissions of guilt, so how's it going with this administration, Spartan?

Also, there were nine investigations on Benghazi, with not one of them showing any corruption at all, so now maybe you can explain to us how "bearing false witness" also is "Christian"?

As as far as Obamacare is concerned, actually most people have been able to keep their former physicians, and it's some of the physicians that opted out of taking those payments that made it not so for the others. So, not encouraging the government to "provide for the general welfare" as found in the Preamble so as to help our fellow Americans is also supposedly "Christian"?

Seems to me that Jesus would want us to help others, not demean others through name-calling, and also to tell the truth.

There is no such freakin' thing as the "objective truths of gods word".

It is all just grown ups playing star wars and taking it sooo
seriously.

There would have been money if Crooked Hillary wanted it. Instead, they turned down multiple pleas for additional security.
Actually, if you were to actually do your homework, it actually was the Pubs who more radically reduced the budget on that expenditure under the reductions with the "sequester", whereas it was the Dems that went along with the reduction but not to the same extent.

Godly wisdom will get someone to heaven. Intelligence by itself won't.
And actually acting like a Christian, with love and understanding for all, hopefully will, but all too many talk-the-talk but just don't walk-the-walk.

Way back in the Torah when God called the rebellious a "stiff-necked" people. Or, when Jesus told the Christ-mockers they were of their father the devil (John 8). Many examples. Don't you ever read the Bible?

Obama had corrupt AG's to cover his rear end, metis. Apparently everyone but you knew that. Plus there is an indictment: Former Obama administration counsel indicted for concealing scope of work with Ukraine

Trying to cover up for that idiot Obama and his corrupt administration is like trying to cover a pile of scat with some leaves.

Rebuking the devil and his minions is also being a Christian.

Yeah, those who aren't up to speed on what the Bible says might think that.

Sorry, not buying it. God's Word is objective. Unbelievers will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Rev. 21:8). You can count on it.
