that preaches evil. All religions talk about love. So people are free to choose whichever religion they like! All religions are correct. All people can unite. And atheists have to say to other people that they choose love and not evil. How can atheists show to other people that they don't choose evil?
Every villain believes in their heart that their actions are good and just. Those who oppress and kill or suppress knowledge in the name of their religious believe think they are doing good. They don’t think of themselves as preaching evil, and they do all talk about love.

Ain’t necessary so.

Well at the expense of sound pendantic, Christ, while indeed referencing having had oil administered to him, therefore signifying him as a SPECIAL unto God person......the word itself in more properly used in conjunction with the anticipated Messiah that the Jews were looking for to free them from their Roman occupiers.
JUST so you know that I know something about it.

The Message of the Bab and Baha'u'llah fulfiled all the Messianic prophecy.

Bab means Gate or Door and the Bab was the Gate facing east that Baha'u'llah (which means 'Glory of God',or 'Glory of the Lord'), entered the temple through.

You are now aware of something more about it and in this knowledge we all have to remember that pride in our own knowledge, is our downfall. All good is from God and not from our own self.

I am conversant with that particular view. And it is NOT due to any Christian influence that I do not necessarily agree with it, At least NOT at this point in time.

Bab means Gate or Door and the Bab was the Gate facing east that Baha'u'llah (which means 'Glory of God',or 'Glory of the Lord'), entered the temple through.
I know what that means and who they are......this is NOT by first rodeo with Bahai theology, nor its history and origins.

You are now aware of something more about it and in this knowledge we all have to remember that pride in our own knowledge, is our downfall. All good is from God and not from our own self.
I make NO excuses for what I know...only for what I do NOT yet know....and there is no pride involved, just stating a fact, that's all.

So since it is understood just WHAT the WORD of God means, the attending scripture is simply illustrating that the WORD of GOD, was made manifest in the MAN Jesus...so that when Jesus spoke OF God, that it was indeed the very WORDS of God that Jesus was speaking.....as if God was standing there (Himself) speaking them.

You did best, came closest, here.

"For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. - Jhn 12:49

Of course I do not expect you or anyone else to accept my interpretation of that scripture.....however it makes MUCH more sense than the brain-twisting that is required to accept the notion that God BECAME God in the flesh in the form of Jesus.

God BECAME God Man in the flesh in the form of Jesus.

Jesus also called Himself the "Son of Man."

I am not Christian, however I am NOT atheist either.....I rely more on common sense than spiritual gobbledegook, and as a result I see CLEARLY that Jesus (the) Christ was a man OF God....not a man FROM God.

It is written:

"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God:
for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned. - 1 Corinthians 2:14

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
How does God make someone into a good person? People are the real authors of themselves. The decider of you is you. Atheists may recognize this, then again they may not. My atheism is merely my honest assessment of reality. Nothing more then that.

I greatly would desire for there to be a God of ideal goodness. Nature tells a different story. Nature does not fit into people's ideologies of what ought be.

People have attributes and they by heart choose those attributes. I dont buy that a murderer did not choose to be a murderer. The heart is exactly where people make their choices of am be.

Does the fear of God change a person?
Does the existence of God force people to change their hearts? All people might do is change their behaviour, and do their darndest to appease God. But the heart is the heart, and an completely innocent God doesnt change anybody.

You gotta want to do it for yourself or for others. Whether we sit, stand, or kneel, or wail at the wall we are only struggling with ourselves.

Some people may use atheism as an excuse, and religions can be used as excuses every bit as much.

Imo, its better to see things with your own eyes of understanding, and withhold all judgments, and be wary of self blindness.

The stories of others lives are lived much longer than the glimpses we catch of them. It is wise to withhold judgment on people, for we can only govern actions and behaviour through fear, and desire for life, but we may never really understand the other until we fully know what they had to go through all their lives, and how they responded all their lives. And under what circumstances their plight is lived.

Of course the obvious evil is obvious enough.
But most often ,If anything, quick judgments of people is only error, and darn hasty.
Seeking to understand others with good intentions and knowing how easy it is to be wrong, that imo is honesty.

As an atheist i can honestly say that i am as moral, if not more so than many religious folk. And I am as capable of love as any other human being.

One does not need a god sitting on your shoulder to tell you what is good and evil, or who to love ore hate. All one needs is humanity and it is an insult to humanity in general to cherry pick who is or isnt a human being based solely on your personal faith.

Now consider the prison population of the usa. There are considerably more inmates of the christian faith than the average for the general population. For atheists the reverse is true. Which seems to indicate that in america at least atheists are less evil than christians.
What ! Tell me how you know there are more inmates of the Christian faith ?

You seem to think that if someone is born in the USA, they are a Christian.

This is nonsense. Like saying WW2 was a Christian war.

You have yet to define what makes a person, or nation, Christian.

So, apparently, a white person, who isn´t an atheist or Muslim, especially an American, is de facto a Christian ?

What blather

That would fall under "evil people doing evil things." Religion has the distinction of making people think they're doing good when it is in fact it's the opposite.

That is not the purview of religion.

That is the purview of propaganda from leaders and has nothing to do with "God beliefs."

What completely throws me is this idea some atheists (well, I would say 'most' atheists) have, the ones who blame religion (i.e. 'God') for all the ills of the world, that this God they claim does not exist can be blamed for anything at all.

If there is no God, then PEOPLE are the culprits, and it doesn't much matter whether they put their trust in what their leaders say about 'God,' or about 'the mother/fatherland' or 'humanity' or 'the good of the majority' or 'honor' or whatever the flip is being used by the current crop of 'powers that be.'

Atheism has already taken God out of the equation...so then what makes them think that people will suddenly change and become something different because they have to use something else as a rallying cry?

Vive la révolution!!!

Actually....it is very much to the advantage of prison inmates to 'find religion,' specifically some Christian form of it, after they are incarcerated. They get more privileges and freedoms (they can attend meetings, for instance, and have better access to libraries, etc., depending upon the facility). Now, finding ANY religion in prison gets an inmate that, but it helps to 'find' one that actually has a solid representative there to support you. this generally means Christianity or Islam...and mostly Christianity.

I mean, really; even Jeffrey Dahmer found religion once he was imprisoned, and he was most definitely atheist before his conviction.

Man, you don't know history. You have "forgotten" what the OLD pagan societies did (neo-paganism is nothing like them). I want you to think about how the Aztec religion had the priests tearing out STILL BEATING HEARTS on their alters. When the temple to Huitzilopochtli was dedicated in 1487, an estimated 80,400 people were sacrificed. So much for "love."

There are plenty of statistics on the internet, try
Religious affiliation of inmates in U.S. prisons, 2011 | Statistic
Or
Are Prisoners Less Likely To Be Atheists?

Dont talk rubbish, why would there be atheists or jews or muslims or sikhs or hundu if everyone was christian? However, around 70 to 75% of the us population are affiliated with the christian church. Statistics again.

This is a a nonessential straw man

Who is talking about nations? If someone says they are christian then who are you to judge?

Another bs straw man

Yes i am glad you have indicated the content of your post is blather. Note the second link 0.1% atheist inmates 0.7% atheist population. The other 99.9% claim a religious affiliation.

I realise you dont the facts it but i am glad to have been of some help

They claim some religious affiliation. What does that mean ?

I will tell you. They complete a form upon intake. It has various blanks to be filled in. One says Religion_______. Now if they went to a Baptist church with their aunt as a child, they write Baptist.

This isn´t affiliation, it is association.

Ask them to give the date they last attended church, or ask if they are on the membership rolls of a church, and see the answers.

As the saying goes, statistics can be made to say anything.

You are making them into a club to bash Christianity, a typical disingenuous stunt.

Yes, I have a cousin, a Baptist minister, who has had a prison ministry for decades at one of Ca.´s toughest prisons.

We track recidivism re crime, one wonders how many return to their old ways as far as religion goes.

Syo,
Make sure you identify yourself, so I can start worshiping you, because you seem to know more that the Bible writers, and God’s Holy Spirit, 2Peter 1:20,21. It seems, according to the Bible, that there is only One one Hope, one Faith, one Baptism, Ephesians 4:4-6, 11-16, 17-25.
Think about this; if it does not matter what faith you believed in, why did Jesus teach wherever he went, and why did Jesus teach his disciples to teach, and why did Jesus, just before he went back to heaven, tell his followers to teach all the things that Jesus commanded his disciples to do, Matthew 28:19,20, Acts 1:8.
Paul, Who was the greatest teacher of Christianity, ever, said to preach the word, and teach, 2Timothy 2:2:24-26, 4:2-5. Consider closely what 1Corinthians 1:10 says, about us all speaking the same thing, and even having the same mind and the same line of thought. The Bible even tells us that we should always be ready to tell anyone the reason for the hope within us, 1Peter 3:15. Consider how false prophets are condemned, 2Peter 2:1-3.
We are told that we will be destroyed, if we do not have a love of the truth, 2Thessalonians 2:10-13.
UN the first century Christianity was called The Way, because there was, and Is only one way of TRUTH, all other teaching is false, Acts 9:2, 19:9, 22:4. John 4:23,24.
God is a God of TRUTH, all liars, will be destroyed, Psalms 5:6, 2Peter 3:15,16, Revelation 21:8, 22:14,15. Agape!!!
