Why is divination considered a sin to Christians?

If you don't care, then why did you ask?

I don't believe in fairies or leprechauns or mermaids either, but you are certainly welcome to your tarot cards, Ouija boards and crystal balls.
Do you believe in God?

ok, well you don't know the forty different writers were stating a fact you can only go by what they wrote, and of course it's all the same harmonious theme,to those who live by the bible,it's doing what is suppose to do;be convincing just like yall described evil spirits do!!and to control the people so it tells you not to do this and don't do that, if you do you are outside of God! I can't never be outside of God we are as one.)but that's another thread.anyway I'm just not buying it, the christian world can quote me scriptures till they tuen blue in the face;I refuse to believe something that has not been proven for a fact.
Not sure I get your point.
You asked...
and how do you know that the bible you read was not written by a pretender acting as they care, so it can control all humans so that they and not know there are other ways to access your higher power and the spiritual world for real spiritual guidance and really live abundantly.

I gave you one piece of evidence that would clearly rule out that possibility.
If you have evidence that the Bible is the product of one man, or that all the writers were given a script by one man, or organization under one entity, then you have a case. Otherwise, you have no reason to object.
It is impossible for ten men in different locations, with different backgrounds and fields of interest to sit and write pages of information, and when these are collected and binded, they make one complete harmonious book.
The only way that is possible, is if those writers all had wifi connection, and we know the Bible writers did not have this.
The only other possibility, is what is stated here.
(2 Peter 1:21) . . .men spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit. . .

On the other hand, a person can claim to be communicating with God, and not have a single clue with whom they are communicating. They have no evidence at all that they are not deceived.
The Bible says they are, and there is more evidence to show that we can trust the Bible.

To me, that means it's one or the other. Either what we know about the Bible is wrong, or your feelings are, and we both know our feelings are never evidence for anything, other than a feeling.
It is like geologist who see clear evidence that an eruption is immanent versus inhabitants living under the volcano saying that they feel safe.
We know that those who choose to rely on their feelings instead of evidence, are not being reasonable, nor wise.

What evidence do you have that your practice of divination is approved by God?

Because if it wasn't he wouldn't send the spiritual messages he gives me and shows me.

Nope I don't believe that the only way to tap into God is a Book!!! I don't care what Christians say there is more to God and life then what it says! and I don't have to wonder who I am tapping in to I know!!! The all powerful Creator that man put a name too!!! I don't need to convince yall, as long as I know the truth for myself. boy oh boy I was right when I said to myself they gonna really jump on this;and yall did.:)
But Zita, the reason we are on RF is to post, and respond to posts.
Were you hoping that no one responded? I'm sure you did not post and hope to see zero replies.
If you did, you should have mentioned that in the OP. How else would we know? ;)

I am aware of the Christian position that is why I got out of "Christian world" because of the fact yall think yall are the "right" ones! well guess what? I don't think yall are!! the only thing yall are; is conditioned to believe in words on the pages of that book, It is the Law and that others are wrong cause they don't, so you limit God to a book, like I can't reach him through other means. wow, you Christians .......
You realize, I was in New Age for five years and spent over 15 years in the LHP afterwards, right? I’m not sharing Christian superstition here. I lived this stuff.

Just like you are so sure you can't be fooled? and don't bring in the intelligent part!!I'm intelligent enough to see that brainwashing is real!!
Really? I’m rather certain the spirits you contact are smarter than either of us.

Can you make your point without something that doesn't come from that bible?
Possibly, but the word of God is the ultimate revelation and source of wisdom and discernment so I don't think anything else is as good. I was not a believer in Jesus until my early thirties. Prior to that, I was involved of a variety of spiritual paths and for a number of years had many friends involved in new age spirituality, using crystals, channeling spirit guides, etc. I saw others have and experienced myself encounters with the spirit realm, both dark and light, good and evil.

One thing I have come to realize about the Creator God is that the gift of freewill He gave to each person is of utmost importance. Because God loves people and wants to provide wisdom and protection He has given His instructions for our benefit, yet the choice is up to us to heed His wisdom or not. For most of us humans, my self included, it often seems we have to just do things our own way and learn things the hard way before we bother to pay attention. One thing I know for sure is that God always gives warnings, sends others to warn us, or quietly speaks in our conscience trying to get our attention when we are going in the wrong direction.

Here is someone's experience with tarot cards...

"Tarot was an important part of my life for almost 20 years. I studied it, wrote about it, performed countless readings, and was considered knowledgeable by experts. Here’s why I stopped.

!Yall obey the Commandments because the bible says moses wrote them!!so you are suppose to; Control!!!!! I obey cause I got common sense
While I try to obey the 10, I don’t keep the Sabbath. However, I don’t think I need to either. There are TWO commandments I am to follow. Love the Lord God with all my heart, mind, spirit, and love my neighbor as myself. Issues with those commandments?

You’ve become very hostile, actually. Are you so certain your spirit friends have your best interest? I don’t see it.

why don't yall just copy the other and paste it, since yall all think alike, non of yall have a individual reason. That's why I love being who I am,an individual with individual thoughts and reason and it's all good with my Higher Power that Created me,really that's all that matters.
We agree on some things, not all. Please stop insulting people. You’re incredibly rude.

It's trying to tap into powers not from God (and recommended to avoid by God so it's a lack of faith in trusting God)

I see it as "lack of faith" in God, being omni-present, to call "anything" as being "not from God"

Why is divination considered a sin to Christians?

I've never had a problem!! and I always pray and ask for protection doing the readings from anything negative coming through! because yes there are negative spirits as well as positive, but as I said I have never had a problem or bad experience!! I am going to continue seeking the divine in the manner I am lead to, just like anyone else.
Hopefully there is someone who knows the answer to my question.

Hello Zita,

Welcome to RF.

Most of the Christians "choose" to believe in sin
Most of the Christians "choose" to judge others (as well as "their" choices), who believe different then them
Most of the Christians "choose" to forget Jesus' saying "do not judge"

Of course that is their "religious freedom"

But that is the reason that most of the Christians consider "divination" a sin

I believe in God, I do not believe in sin

My Master taught me "whatever you offer to God is purified" (thought, word and deed should be one)
It seems to me you offer all to God, doing your "divination" in a prayerful way. So you are totally safe
Obviously more safe than the Christians "judging" what you do; they are the ones that should worry
