Where do the orthodox Jews stand with homosexuality?

Between the two though, I would much rather it be in some spiritual afterlife than in the hands of people here and now carrying out murder. And ,,,not all Christian faiths believe in a literal fire and brimstone hell.

Indeed: All christianity-- no exceptions-- seem to cherry-pick which is "real" and which is "allegory".

I suppose they must, else they'd forever be caught in irreconcilable cognitive dissonance; I mean, even more than what's required to be a theist...

This is very true. Secular Jews are very LGBT friendly, as are i.e. Reform Jews (much more common in the Diaspora). But that's Tel Aviv. Go elsewhere and the religious culture is much more influenced by Orthodox Judaism, which considers homosexuality a sin.

Your distinctions are duly noted.

Correct me if I'm wrong: the Orthodox Jewish rejection of homosexuality seems to have limited consequences in Israel: applicants for Israeli citizenship have to satisfy certain requirements. several of which have to be evaluated by one or more Israeli Orthodox Jews. So, I suspect, an openly homosexual immigrant would not be granted Israeli citizenship.
