the city in revelation has a river that flows through it. jerusalem has no such river except the jordan that is no where near the city. rome has a river associated with it, the tiber.

but yet that city that is spoken of is called the new jerusalem. the river is wellspring that is welling up to everlasting life.

babylon is associated with confusion - babel supposedly; which takes it all the way back to genesis. the folks were trying to make a name and build themselves a city but the bible says that god doesn't dwell in temples made by hands.
