The article you sited has this to say:

A recent combination of continued refinery issues and a lack of gasoline imports are responsible for pushing costs at least three cents higher a day, AAA reported.

“Out of the 10 major refineries in California, six are dealing with planned maintenance, unplanned breakdowns or both, and four of those refineries are in Southern California,” Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring explained in a news release.

And oil production in the US continues to rise.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
"Gouging" most often is a term used by people who just
want to pay less for something they want too much of.
Conservation is a good way around high gas prices.
Car pool, walk, bike, drive less, buses, etc.
I'd agree with you if gas stations lower their prices as fast as they raised it

They do.
I watch for it.
It happened in October last year...big drop down to $2/gal.
But common folk don't notice prices falling compared to rising.
Think about it....
They complain about prices rising.
Didn't prices have to be lower in order for this increasing to happen?

We don't own their oil or gasoline.
They have the right to charge whatever they want.
We'll buy it...or we won't. It's our choice.

I think I'm going to join the liberals in buying an alternative fuel vehicle.

You must be living in a primo area.

Where I am, they shoot up instantly as prices rise per barrel. Once the price goes down per barrel , good luck seeing any substantial drop in kind for a good looong while. And it ain't my imagination.

Why Gas Prices Rise Quickly but Fall Slowly

I'm not. I'd just get a motorcycle and give the Socialists a finger. Trump will start digging here at home. We got tons of the untapped stuff. "O]

I noticed during a trip from Michiganistan to Texistan & back.

People who whine about gas prices being too high here should
try buying it in Eurostan. It's a lot worse there.
Also, it's a market economy.
Don't start demanding a command economy.
AOC just might give you one when she's able.

Why are you blaming socialists for gasoline which flows from capitalism?
Besides, gas is still cheaper than buying a bottle of water water.

You are aware that there are set price-caps on oil, and that refineries are NOT free to sell gas at their own prices, right?

Big oil is a socialist scandal.

Are you seriously suggesting that the United States produces more oil than the Muzzies?
We do produce more oil than any other country,
albeit not more than all Muslim countries combined.
Is it the price of gas you hate or Muslim countries?
