But the tax cuts he signed will widen the deficit
This is true. But they have had some immediate benefits in jobs. Both in poorer states and in industry. In the long run, despite my previous words, the cut will have a negative impact on the deficit. I will have to stand corrected on that portion of my previous statement.

I was going for a little balance in my very brief and superficial assessment of his efforts in office. I was having trouble doing that, but I am sure others could point out some positives that he has driven in office without getting into divisive political rhetoric.

I can say that living in California, where not even Pence (the one I consider the far greater threat and danger) can touch me now. Had Clinton won, the Supreme Court nominations would have been great, but not living in Indiana anymore my own personal life is pretty much un-affected. Being here, I no longer fear Trump's over due Big McHeart Attack.

I can say the opposite. I live in Republican Evangelical capital of the IS Dallas Tx and I am Democrat. However living in this situation learning to get along with and sometimes use the language of conservatives to get along has become the normal. However,I have toughened up so much tot he point that I feel somewhat, whats the word they use for superheroes who can not be harmed? That word. But we will see if, trump wins, we will see if I am affected. i have gotten use to Trump worshipers, and there's been a fight in my family and hey I wasn't even a part of it.

The word is "Invulnerable"

I am told - by many friends that live in TX - that the state is starting to go purple with the larger metropolitan areas going blue

As things stand right now it is more likely than not that President Trump will be re-elected. His re-election will take oxygen from any remaining investigations. None of his family will serve any jail time. All of President Trump’s medical reports indicate he is in comparable health for a man his age. Actuarillary speaking he should not die in office. (It is telling that those that ponder his longevity shy away from discussions of the longevity prospects of Nancy Pelosi, Bernie Sanders nor Ruth Bader Ginsburg with as much zeal.)

Bottom line, the likelihood is we can look forward to almost six more years of an administration under President Trump. Some will look forward with trepidation, most will take it in stride.

Wrong. Congress, and only Congress, controls Federal spending. ALL deficits are the responsibility on Congress, never any President.
I think he meant the national debt. At least that is what I took his statement to be in reference too. Though you are correct about the budget.

He signed the bill did he not? That is all I am saying
But Congress had to have passed it first, and Congress could at any time it chooses to repeal it without President Trump’s approval. Again, only Congress bears responsibility for all deficits.

I have no idea what will happen. No one thought he would be president either, but here we are.

Both deficits and the national debts are the responsibility of Congress. No other entity can borrow money on behalf of the U.S. besides Congress.

Yep - and @Shaul is right as well - the (Republican) Congress sent him the budget - partly I would surmise to pay off their (wealthy) friends that had contributed to them - but Mr. Trump signed it

As he has shown with the Emergency declaration resolution - he knows about and can wield his pen to deliver a veto
Also correct. It is always never as simple as any one person wants it to seem when it is their guy that is being questioned.

If he makes a second term, I hope he does a great job. I do not want the country to fail just because that person represents a party that I find myself increasingly distant from. In fact, I am up a tree. I do not agree with many of the extremes that Democrats have been latching onto either. I will be forced to think and you know how we voters hate to do that.

Then you are saying that all the negative claims about Obama and the deficit or the debt are not his responsibility either. That is good to know.

I do not think that he originally claimed that the deficit or the debt were the result of the presidents direct action. I think he said that the tax cuts would effect them. That is a fact and has nothing to do with who draws up, legislates or borrows the money.

There is absolutely nothing in the Tax reform bill that requires any deficits whatsoever. Congress could solve the deficits at anytime by changing spending and policy. It is that simple and that difficult.

Partly so. President Obama (and similarly President Trump) as titular heads of their respective political Parties share the blame with their Party when it also controls Congress. But the ultimate and primary responsibility lies with the members of Congress.
