Bahaullah writes:

“Gracious God! In His Book, which He hath entitled “Qayyúmu’l-Asmá,”—the first, the greatest and mightiest of all books—He prophesied His own martyrdom. In it is this passage: “O thou Remnant of God! I have sacrificed myself wholly for Thee; I have accepted curses for Thy sake; and have yearned for naught but martyrdom in the path of Thy love. Sufficient Witness unto me is God, the Exalted, the Protector, the Ancient of Days!”

The book of life. Other than that, none. Just my view.

As a kid I thought Dr. Seuss's McElligot's Pool was the greatest book ever. So it's close!

Seeing as how this is in the science and religion forum I'll play. I like "Excession" by Iain M Banks, it is profound and perhaps the greatest book i have read.
The entire Diskworld series by Terry Pratchet also come to mind as being great works.
And of course the "Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy" seriese by Douglas Adam's

As a chemist, I would mention the "Handbook of Chemistry and Physics" published by the Chemical Rubber Company, known in the trade as the "Rubber Bible".

I recommend the Book of Mormon. We in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe it has conversion power to Christianity and accepting Christianity overall that no other book has. Fortunately, it is one of the 20 most popular books on Earth.

But we put the Bible before it.

Well...the reference to 'first book' can't be talking ordinally, right? Books in some form had existed for 2500 years already.

So I figure they mean first as in 'primary'. In that case, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's subjective.

Popularity is one way of objectively measuring, but then, how does one get a handle on popularity? Besides which there can be books which speak to you in certain periods of your life but don't hold mass appeal.

So I would eschew the question and instead suggest to read widely, read often, read adventurously then judge for yourself.

This is a metephor and a reality.

You will note the Bible talks about a new heaven and a new earth and that all things are made new.

The Bab brought the new heaven and new earth and made all things new. From His declaration the slate is wiped clean and judjement day again commences, thus the metephor of the first book

His first book in reality, is that of the New Revelation and commences the new 'Day of God', which is like unto a 1000 years.

This is but one limited thought.

As per the rest of my post, then, this is subjective.
I understand, and am comfortable with your reality. It's just not mine.

I can see that is fair. There is a lot in Faith we can not know, just meditate upon and see if new doors of understanding open. A bit like the Matrix Locker scene. :D

The Bab is known as the Primal Point

"..I am the Primal Point from which have been generated all created things..."

People have studied and written about this and all I can say is it was over my head. One has to be well versed in all scriptures to grasp an understanding about this.

If you are interested this is a PDF that goes into detail;

"Augustine masterly states that: “All the parts that will eventually become a tree are contained in the seed without division and at the same time. Thus the universe must be conceived”

Abdu'l-Bahá expresses the same concept:

“Like a seed in which a tree is contained in latent state and then becomes a full-grown tree, the growth and development of all beings is gradual. Thus is the divine universal order and the natural system”
.

All the best, Regards Tony

Does one mean, these ones "20 most popular books on Earth":
Historical Blockbusters: The 20 Most Popular Books in the World | WritersDigest.com

Sorry, I don't find "Book of Mormon", there. Did I miss to see it listed in them, please?
I did read it many years ago, however.
Has one read Kitab-i-Iqan or the "Book of Certitude" by Bahaullah, please?
If not, is it possible to read it? Just suggesting it, please.

Let's see... I heard that around 2007 and I think it was based on distribution and not profit. I think I remember looking it up. Alas, memory is shaky when you can't verify it.

Ah... here is something I can state:
Book of Mormon Reaches 150 Million Copies - Church News and Events

I personally doubt that is top 20... oh well.

Here's something I just found too for what it's worth:
Bible, Book of Mormon make list of top 50 influential books
