I will be wearing green and panhandling at the traffic jams. I will not drink like usual.

Im curious about the pandhandling. Is it only legal for someone to pandhandle at the traffic lights? I ask because it seams to be the least likely spot that i would wanna do it if i did it.

Let me tell you an experience. Everytime i drive up to a traffic light, and there happens to be a pandhandler, two things go against them recieving money from me.

1, the light is green, i gotta keep driving. Or the liggt is gonna turn green any second now.

2, i never cary cash on me, its always my debit card.

So, this makes there chances zero to recieve from me.

Now, contrast that with this experience.

I was going into the grocery store. A guy had a sign saying hungry, need food.

So, i dont have cash, so i go in the store and buy him something. I bring it out and give him it. Others bought stuff too. So he had a fair bit of bags.

So, my point is, the location of the pandhandling seams to increase or decrease ones chances of recieving.

Why do pandhandlers do it at traffic lights?

Quite simple, really. It's the easiest place to make a connection with someone where they cannot walk away.

Why green? The colour of the order of St Patrick is blue. The national colour of blue had been around since henry VIII.

Green did not rear its head until the surge of nationalism and sectarianism of the 19th century.

But not until the southern irish football team adopted green as their strip for the 1924 Olympics it it gain county wide support

Although the irish flag is now green, white and orange (catholic peace, protestant), flag waving is typically done using a older blue flag with gold harp.

No one knows where green came from. It just developed slowly

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Happy St Pat's day

from Patrick's confessions

I am Patrick, a sinner, unlearned, the least of all the faithful, and utterly despised by many. My father was Calpornius, a deacon, son of Potitus, a priest, of the village Bannavem Taburniae he had a country seat nearby, and there I was taken captive. I was then about sixteen years of age. I did not know the true God. I was taken into captivity to Ireland with many thousands of people – and deservedly so, because we turned away from God, and did not keep His commandments, and did not obey our priests, who used to remind us of our salvation.
