I'm in a 'theistic' religion. It's therefore, mystical, and Spiritual. It's multifaceted.

"Christianity" is a gigantic religious description, and there is quite a bit of variation. Ultimately, it is spiritual, though.

Should it bring "something", it could, because why would anyone be in a 'religion', if it's just academic. I don't mean physical stuff, I mean personal spiritual benefit.

It probably should.

The way I see it is the purpose of religion is to answer the following four great existential questions:
1. Who am I?
2. Why am I here?
3. What does it all mean?
4. What is going to happen to me when I die?

After reading the Tibetan Book of the Dead and how to bring the endless cycle of death and rebirth to end my hope is when I die I am not born-again in New Jersey. The way I see it, when you live in New Jersey, there is only Heaven.

I'm not sure I'm really searching too hard anymore. I like talking and thinking about religion. I like the idea of merging the latest experimental results in cosmology and quantum theory and combine them into religious thought to form a consistent World view of the Universe. It would be nice if one of these days I would have telekinetic powers not just in my dreams.

Sometimes I think about how big Time is if you assume our Big Bang was the result of a star collapsing to black hole in another previously existing space-time dimension.

Sometimes I think about the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics and if I could change the current Universe I am participating in by some other means than just making choices.

Sometimes I search for God by thinking about what my brain is doing between thoughts. If our brain is more like a radio receiver and not a computer then I wonder if I can somehow hijack the signal and travel back up the wave of existence to some other reality and experience God directly.

For years and through very hard work I've answered those four questions above to where I believe I have satisfactory answers for each question at least for myself.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I'm not searching. Find that I have no real need to anymore. No need to look and search anywhere.

It's like my old animated sig of a young man canoeing along an endless river of flowing water...

"I don't remember where I come from, and don't know where I'm going".......

I find the endless journey itself has been the destination all along.

The river runs deep.

The Road to understanding universal religion as One, has many opposing Signposts; by searching it out, that leads some of us to being a Shepherd to Oneness.

In my opinion. :innocent:
After some study on my own i think i realsed your thought of Oneness :) There is one truth on the top, but many paths to the truth :) So as an example we have a mountain with many paths to the top, and each religion/spiritual path has its own path up the mountain, and if we can enlighten to the truth (top) we will all meet there and see, even we walked different paths we end up with the same answer in the end :)

I do not search for anything: I know God who guides me into my dharmic actions. That is sufficient for me. I live from one moment to the next judging each moment for what I need to do next. This means not having any objectives or goals, material or spiritual.

If have no spiritual goal, does that not leave you in a standstill when it comes to development of inner wisdom?

Yes. I have no need for inner wisdom any more, just live and act hoping that God approves my actions. I will still periodically go to my digital clock and look for messages from God if He has any. If not I take it that He has given me the go-ahead with the wisdom that I have acquired until that moment in time. I never know if I am ever going to check for messages from God again, but it happens. That clearance to proceed gives me utter peace and contentment.

How do you know it is a god who give you message? if you do not develop inner wisdom, how can you understand new insight that should arise?

I know that God exists within me and outside of me, and He has given me irrefutable proof that He will exchange messages with me through the digital clock. Furthermore, I am convinced that He has guided me over 20 years so that I have survived great upheavals in my life with His saviour acts of protection. For this reason I will do my dharma and seek for more messages from God. And His lack of positive 7s (2.41, 3.04, 4.12, 5.20, 6.01, 7.00, 8.08, 9.25, 10.42, 11.32, etc) I take as He has nothing further to say to me or that I should go on my own path. This is understood with God. I am not disappointed that He has no messages that I should do something specific with a 7 sighting. I then get on with my life knowing that I have done everything possible to ascertain the truth of what I am doing as being absolutely the most righteous act of dharma that I could have thought of doing.

I asked him that question: He said he only wishes to be known as God, and not Brahman. I call him Sri Krishna/Durga from what I know of His characteristics.

I don't search. I believe in my shepherd and the shepherd searches for me. He searches food for me and if I might get lost, he searches for me.

I believe that he is searching for the right substance of life. His name can be Jesus if you like that name. I hope to keep waiting for what he shall reveal.
