Nine Pieces Of Evidence That Confirm The Historical Accuracy Of The Bible

You should have seen them scramble when evidence surfaced there were actually no domesticated camels around the time the Bible said there were.

Domesticated Camels Came to Israel in 930 B.C., Centuries Later Than Bible Says

Another charmer would be the Bible's claim of eliminating all the Canaanites.
Lo and behold we find Canaanites are living today contrary to what the Bible said.

Living Descendants of Biblical Canaanites Identified Via DNA
Yeah, apparently Jews were originally a group of Canaanites who reformed the original polytheistic religion. They started worshipping Yahweh alone, eventually building him up from a tribal war and storm deity to overtaking El as head of the pantheon and then throwing all the other deities out (including Yahweh's consort) and viewing him as the Supreme Being. Judaism as we know it now actually isn't that old. Rabbinic Judaism is actually younger than Christianity.

You're joking, aren't you?

A Brief History of the Apocalypse
The early days: 2800 BC - 1700 AD

A Brief History of the Apocalypse

Didn't mean the Apocalypse or End Times or those things.

What I was driving at are the writings on the Bible and fulfilled after many many years and even centuries.

For example the teaching of my Lord Jesus in which he said:

Matthew 6:7 New International Version (NIV)
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

The Lord Jesus preached to the Jews on this and they do not babble in their prayers.

Centuries later, people were already babbling like pagans - repeating their words [prayers] over and over again.
Now isn't that a prophecy fulfilled?

This particular verse is too big to ignore as evidence.
This bolster the historical and prophetic accuracy of the Bible.
Don't you think?

Archeological discoveries could be lost, destroyed and doubted [as inconclusive or a mere fabrication] but the writing on the wall is another thing. Let me lift this writing from the Douay-Rheims Bible [The Douay–Rheims Bible is a translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate into English made by members of the Catholic seminary English College, Douai, France. It is the foundation on which nearly all English Catholic versions are still based. Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA) - Version Information - BibleGateway.com ] and in:

Now apply your objection to the Bible. The Bible which does not have a single contemporary manuscript or even fragment.

It only shows that the writer understood human nature. How is it evidence?

Do you think that now is the only time when those in a religious fervor broke out in babbling?

???????????Well if your gonna say that you need to prove it what evidence?

Can't bear the suspense? ;)

Revelation 6:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

The book of Revelation was written down by apostle John at the island of Patmos as visions after visions were shown to him by the Lord Jesus Christ and his angels. So these writings were done and completed before his death in 100 AD. The book of Revelation contains prophecies of things to happen many years after his death - some were fulfilled and some are yet to happen.

One of those prophecies which was fulfilled was the "first seal"

1stsealwhitehorse.jpg

In 380 CE, the emperor Theodosius issued the Edict of Thessalonica, which made Christianity, specifically Nicene Christianity, the official religion of the Roman Empire. Most other Christian sects were deemed heretical, lost their legal status, and had their properties confiscated by the Roman state.
Christianity in the Roman Empire

"and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest" White horse represents a false religion rode by a Roman Emperor [crown] with strict decrees under the penalty of death and loss of property [bow] and this kind of religion will spread throughout the empire and through out the world.

This is too big to ignore as evidence, since we could observe this ourselves.
It is just too big and proves the historical and prophetic accuracy of the Bible.

When did it become a reality?

  • Council of Elvira (c. 305 AD)
(Canon 33): It is decided that marriage be altogether prohibited to bishops, priests, and deacons, or to all clerics placed in the ministry, and that they keep away from their wives and not beget children; whoever does this shall be deprived of the honor of the clerical office.

Your personal interpretation does not make something "evidence".

What "teaching of demons" are you talking about? In fact I do not see any of that. I guess it is not the last days after all. Whew!

It's right there.
They will forbid people not to marry and forbid people not to eat meats.
Well they just follow like zombies, not knowing they are doctrines of devils.

That is just an anti-Catholic spin. When were they "banned from eating meats"? One day a week hardly counts.

There is plenty wrong with the Catholic Church, but it was never prophesized by the author of Revelation.

Now apply your objection to the Bible. The Bible which does not have a single contemporary manuscript or even fragment.

That is why archeological finds could be lost and deteriorate over time and that includes paper:

The oldest known paper document in Europe is the Mozarab Missal of Silos from the 11th century, probably using paper made in the Islamic part of the Iberian Peninsula. They used hemp and linen rags as a source of fiber. The first recorded paper mill in the Iberian Peninsula was in Xàtiva in 1056.

That is why the bible survived through the centuries, kept by its enemies and revealed in the last days.

The preservation of the OT writings were done by the Jews while the preservation of the NT writings were done by its own enemies. Isn't that queer and strange - but that is how the Bible survived over the centuries.

Isn't that strange?
Apostle Paul wrote it and beheaded 64 or 67 AD
Then after 110 AD, long before Paul was buried, here comes Ignatius who coined the word "Catholic"

The combination "the Catholic Church" (he katholike ekklesia) is found for the first time in the letter of St. Ignatius to the Smyrnaeans, written about the year 110.
CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Catholic

Where is the spin? Paul wrote it.
And this one is a long time ago, even before our grand grand daddies were even born.

So these things are hard to ignore as evidence about the bible
To big to ignore the historic and prophetic accuracy of the book.

You are simply making a common error among believers. Reinterpreting the Bible after the fact. Vague "prophecies" are worthless since they have multiple interpretations and given enough time they can be "fulfilled" more than once. What you should pay attention to are the prophecies with a clear time limit. Those tend to fail rather poorly. At least if one tries to take them literally as prophecy of a future event.

Faith based assertion.

Its like the Bible was protected by the hand of God. - now that is Faith Based Assertion

Let's face it - the Bible survived over the centuries.

The Old Testament - kept by the Jews thought the centuries. That if one would check if a book or writing is canon, all one must do is visit a synagogue and check the copy of the OT with the rabbi.

The New Testament - first was in Koine Greek in the first to the third centuries and translated to Latin, the non Latin copies burned by the Roman church so people couldn't read or understand the Bible then the rest is history.

Of course, I'm wrong - always.
Since when was I right?

For me the Bible contains "prophecies" - some of them were fulfilled and the others not yet.
Now that is my worry because the next prophecies would be a gloomy one
It is my road map of where I'm at and where I should go.
People who don't know where they are - are groping in darkness
No wonder they are angry all the time because they are frustrated.

they have multiple interpretations and even predictions - sure I'm aware of that.

List of dates predicted for apocalyptic events - Wikipedia

actually even the Catholic Church predicted several dates, so did the Seventh Day Adventist, Mormons and JW and these were recorded in the encyclopedias and their respective writings.

clear time limit? - what is that?

2 Peter 1:21 New International Version (NIV)
For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

How do you deal with the failed prophecies of the Bible? Not the unfulfilled ones, ones that can never be fulfilled since their time has passed.

Interesting but there are other things that are so glaring and just too big that I couldn't deny the veracity and authenticity of the Bible as the word of God.

Those 9 things are tangibles that could easily be lost through time.

However historical events which occurred long after the prophecies were spoken and written are something to scratch your head into.

That is why we know that we are living in the last days.
Soon this thing will hit the fan and
no longer we would doubt anything when we see it happen before our eyes
Already men's hearts are failing them for fear of those things coming on the earth. Creatures manifesting from hell. Meanwhile scoffers are still going to be doing their thing. (2 Peter 3:4)

There are always "scoffers" when a theistic prophecy is made. You would be a scoffer of the Muslim or Hindu faiths. There is nothing amazing about that.
My point is the prophecy is already coming true but in such a way that will still allow some people to deny it.
