Nine Pieces Of Evidence That Confirm The Historical Accuracy Of The Bible

Oh we have debated the exodus in the past. The jubal al luz mountain is a supurb candidate for mount sinai. Im fully convinced of its authenticity for the exodus.

But, i wont debate it now, not today.
That is because you are grasping at straws. We know why that mountain does not match the myth.

Not quite following, but if I understand you, I can say that all it takes for the Bible to be untrustworthy is a single instance of untruth, which, as it turns out, happens to be the case.

Not sure. I think your statement may need a bit of punctuation.

.

The Bible has many, many authors and stories have been combined and rewritten over time.. Most prophecy is after the fact.

The whole bunch of them Cornuke, Wyatt etc are awful liars.. You can't sneak into Saudi Arabia.

World Net Daily pulled one off in 1998 about the world's largest oil reserves being found in Israel with a water witch and scripture in the hands of one Hayseed Stephens. Then for a decade WND sold stock to little old Christian ladies and never sank a single bore hole.

.

Or so the video below claims
.

The List of Nine, which supposedly verify claims made in the Bible. (The narrator provides the relevant chapters and verses.)

1) A stone that confirms that Pontius Pilatus was the Prefect of Judea.

2) A tunnel was created under the city of David to carry water.

3) A clay cylinder describes how Sennacherib laid siege against various cities

4) A stone mentioning there was an Israelite king of the house of David.

5) A stone cites Omri as the king of Israel.

6) The remnants of a house was found that verifies the town of Nazareth existed in the first century AD.

7) A clay cylinder recounts Cyrus II declaration of human rights

8) The discovery of the pool of Siloam

9) A stone tablet shows the existence of the Hittites

Of course our young presenter in the video conveniently ignores all the evidence that disproves the Bible's historical accuracy, but this is to be expected. When cherry picking no one ever picks the "bad" cherries.

In any case, even if all nine of the examples are true, one can only say, SO WHAT? What's so amazing (as the narrator would like the viewer to believe) about historical events showing up in the Bible? Heck, even if the Bible was a pure fabrication from Genesis to Revelation, the fabricator would certainly have been astute enough to include historical facts to make the thing appear genuine---it's why counterfeiters go to such extremes to make their money appear real. In this case it's like expecting the viewer to get excited because the Bible mentions the Mediterranean Sea, or that the Sun sets in the west. SO WHAT?

Nope, it's stupid stuff like this video that fill the believer with unjustified confidence in his faith. Do Christians really need to be duped so as to hold onto their faith? . . . . . . . . . . . . . maybe so, but it's not pretty.

.

At best it only confirms those specific parts. Pontius Pilatus existing does nothing to validate anything about Jesus beyond execution.

Wyatt is even recognized as a liar by his old sect. He used to be a Seventh Day Adventist. And they are literalists. When fellow literalists call one of their own a fraud there really is no doubt.

Toss in the fact 7th dayers hold incorrect beliefs themselves says a lot. After all when the asylum kicks you out.....

I can show you quotes of people saying the exact same sort of thing across thousands of years of history. All the previous End Time prognosticators have been wrong, but I'm sure this time...

A Brief History of the Apocalypse

Not about the Apocalypse but other things, other stuff written in the Bible a long time ago.
Prophecies written during the time of the apostles then saw fulfillment, hundreds or a thousand years later.

Archeological discoveries could be lost, destroyed and doubted [as inconclusive or a mere fabrication] but the writing on the wall is another thing. Let me lift this writing from the Douay-Rheims Bible [The Douay–Rheims Bible is a translation of the Bible from the Latin Vulgate into English made by members of the Catholic seminary English College, Douai, France. It is the foundation on which nearly all English Catholic versions are still based. Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA) - Version Information - BibleGateway.com ] and in:

1 Timothy 4:1-3 Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)

Now the Spirit manifestly saith, that in the last times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error, and doctrines of devils,

Speaking lies in hypocrisy, and having their conscience seared,

Forbidding to marry, to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving by the faithful, and by them that have known the truth.

This specific prophecy was written by apostle Paul to Timothy [before 64 or 67 AD] - was this fulfilled?
Does it give you goosebumps - that this people will surrender themselves to spirits of error and teachings of demons?? That these people continually lie, a bunch of hypocrites and bears no conscience???

Was this specific writing of apostle Paul guided by the Holy Spirit - became a reality???

If you agree that this became a reality then this one is just too big to ignore as evidence.
Too big to ignore as historical and prophetic accuracy of the Bible.

But wait there's more....

When did it become a reality?

I hate these. Yeah, there's evidence that Lincoln was a real person, that doesn't make Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter true. There's evidence that Horsell Common is a real place, that doesn't make War Of The Worlds historical fact.

There's two terms that you will often hear atheists repeat that comes to mind. "Evidence" and "Cherry Pick."

There is evidence that what the Bible says happened happened, and then there is the evidence that you can't test, don't fully understand but are desperately in need of denying the possibility of due to a fixed perspective.

It's actually interesting from the perspective of the outsider. It manifests itself as a need to have an explanation for everything. Even if the explanation may be wrong or in constant flux. Almost as if you live in a fragile box and the threat of no explanation is greeted with a surprisingly hostile reaction.

And you have not come up with a reason not to trust the Bible.

I do realize you don't like the Bible, but not liking something does not make it untrue.

People have known they were living in the last days many times through history.
I enjoyed Millenium (Tom Holland) for it's clear narrative, but also the linking of human nature between 1000 AD and 2000 AD in terms of surety around living in prophetic times.

Not really meaning the end of the world stuff.

The words spoken by the Christ and written by his apostles - and after many many years saw their fulfillment.

Example:

Matthew 23:9 New International Version (NIV)
And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.

This one was one of the teachings of my Lord Jesus Christ and here he made a prohibition - do not call anyone on earth father. He meant a stranger, and unrelated to anyone.

He was not speaking about one's biological father since the Lord Jesus said: "honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 19:19

This teaching is unheard of during Jesus time in Israel. The Jewish people do not really call a stranger "father" as a title. They would call on a preacher, either as a rabbi or teacher. The title "father" is out of place, BUT people started calling other people "father" many centuries after the apostles died.

Isn't this writing in the Bible too big to ignore as evidence?
Evidence of the historical and prophetic accuracy of the Bible?

What "teaching of demons" are you talking about? In fact I do not see any of that. I guess it is not the last days after all. Whew!
