I have a schoolproject in which contains a question about Buddha. If anyone can be a Buddha, what do you do to become one? How should you act, live and think?

Kind regards,
Ellen

Buddha means Enlighten one, To become enlighten true the teaching of buddha you must do something called cultivation of the teaching. or in other words you will become the living version of the teaching. then when you have become enlighten you will know everything there is to know up to the level of wisdom you enlighten to. Example the historical buddha was a Tathagata, but before that he was an arahant (one who are about to become a tathagata)

A buddha will live perfect in every aspect of spirituality and in moral. meaning he or she will no longer do unwholsome acts, speech or thoughts,
Well when it comes to thoughts a buddha would only think when needed (when asked a question)

This is only the beginning of what a a buddha is feel free to ask more questions

Buddhism is about dukha, or stress alleviation. It employs a process of psychology. It teaches a person how to be unconcerned about God and get on with doing what is necessary to live a stress-free life. You need to take a vow to become a Buddhist for the path is rigorous. There is also the element of reaching enlightenment or nirvana, which holds the adherent to a carrot to get them to pursue the path of the Buddha. There is no stick to beat people into adopting the path except holding people to the vow.

Honestly what you write here is not buddhism, We do not take a vow to become a buddhist, that is a free choice. i should know since i am a buddhist my self.
Since she do have a shool project about buddhism it would be very helpfull for her to actually get true insight from those of who are buddhists, right?

I do know that, nothing wrong in helping, But honestly what you did write is not true buddhism, it was wrong view. But i know you wanted to help
When I first read about Buddha he was very concerned about why people suffer, eg in old age, ailments, poverty, etc; so he set out to find a psychological means of alleviating their suffering. That was very commendable of him.

Yes Buddha did wanted to find the reason of suffering in the world. and found it in the 4 noble truths about suffering, and the solution out of suffering is the 8 folded path.

1: Life is suffering
2: The cause of suffering is craving
3: Suffering ends when craving is disolved
4: The path out of suffering is the 8 folded path

THE NOBLE EIGHTFOLD PATH
  1. Right understanding (Samma ditthi)
  2. Right thought (Samma sankappa)
  3. Right speech (Samma vaca)
  4. Right action (Samma kammanta)
  5. Right livelihood (Samma ajiva)
  6. Right effort (Samma vayama)
  7. Right mindfulness (Samma sati)
  8. Right concentration (Samma samadhi)

The right thought is to sit down without any attachments and see the world unfold and respond accordingly - to survive in a pleasant way.

In a way yes, But there is also a lot more behind the right thoughs :)
Example is not to think bad about others even they are mean or evil toward you self.
Not to hold any negative or evil thoughts about you self or others.

It is not possible to survive a human life in a pleasent way :) until one do reach enlightenment there will always be something that feels like suffering. And ofcourse we should not just sit and watch the world unfold in a bad way, when we see situations that we may respond to we should do so. But to a buddhist politics is not important

I used to think like that, but I do not believe this any more since I became a Born Again Human Being last week and detached myself from everything. I do not even watch the news any more, just wait for something to happen to me and then take the appropriate action to withstand the event so that I can survive pleasantly.

Well the tread is about how we can help Ellen to understand Buddhism in a better way for her school project, So not about what we personally belive or not belive. But ofcourse you can belive what you do, that i dont reject from you :)

I did not ask you to become something you are not :) But maybe if we open a new tread about buddhist belief we can discuss our personally belief there

Ellen must know from someone who has attained enlightenment what are right thoughts in Buddhism. Existentialism is a form of Buddhism.

If i understood Ellen`s OP she is haveing a school project about Buddhism in the form of Buddha Sakyamuni, But ofcourse there ar also 10 different forms of Buddhism she does need to look in to.
But i want to wait until she respond to this tread. Then we might get more info.
